A lot of old timers thought it meant they had more hunt than others. Kinda like my dog with a crook in his tail and yes he is the best dog I have ever owned. To bad he didn't have the swirl too I might have the first blue world champ.

I was just messing around earlier. I don't have any proof of the swirl and my dog with the crook in his tail the whole litter is turning out to be the right kind.

Billy the crooked tail Blue dog is the dog I trained and started. I ended up getting rid of all my Black dogs and started hunting dogs that go back to my wife's Grandfather's dogs.

I get cow licks in some of my Smokey River dogs.Smokey River Chief Geronimo has pups that sometimes have a cow lick.I also get liver pups out of these same dogs occasionally
