Adams flea spray will knock them down but not out. Adams carpet powder won't knock them down but when it gets them it might do for 2 or 3 years. Bayer Tree and Shrub, But you say she is already using the active ingredient . SOO I figure she is like my girlfriend and tell her the right rate is ten times the real rate because she ain't going to use but 1/10 of what you tell her the rate is anyway and wonder why she can't get rid of the fleas.

I re-read what I said and have no idea why it does not make sense to you. But I will edit it to possibly clarify. Advantage 2 has the same active ingredient as Bayer Tree and Shrub, imidichloripid, which is not meant to kill fleas in the trees and shrubs out in the yard, but rather on the dog. But since you are already using it. I would assume ya'll are using the correct dosage on the dog. The carpet poweder has a growth inhibito in it that affect the fleas life cycle in changinging stages from imature to adult so therefore that takes time and it does not knock fleas down. Do you have other vermin in the yard such as cats that are not being treated? An overall aplication to the entire yard , under the house and wherever the vermine host may hang out with a permethrin insecticide will provide some relief. 3 tons of Ag lime might squash them but 10 tons would squash them harder for there is nothing in lime to kill fleas other than weight or sufocation. By the way 3 tons of ag lime in south carorolina will probably run the pH up to around 10 and kill every plant in your yard. So I go back to my original suspicion that the problem did not just jump out yesterday that somebody has been going light on the dose for quite sometime. And this probably makes no sense either.

Use Dawn dishsoap, then brush them out. Then go to the vet and get Revlotion.(Spelling sorry) It takes care of fleas, ticks and other B.S.. Treating the yard is BIG though.

your right 3 tons of ag lime would kill just about anything but 300 pounds [lbs] to the acre want hurt anything... and yes it will kill fleas.... it takes the oil off the adult flea that it has to have to live and will dry the eggs up so they dont hatch

20 dollars is mighty cheap to me to manage fleas i have spent countless amounts of money with chemicals to keep fleas down and they end up drinking it, this pill i was skeptical about it at first until i tried it and now you cant find a flea and i gave it to one dog and that one dog took care of all the fleas in the yard they would get on dog and then die ,frontline cant hold a candle to comfortis

Who is your vet?? For $20 you can go to your vet? and get a prescription? And "knock" down the fleas in your yard"?

just call your vet and ask them if they carry comfortis. you don't need a prescription. i just walk in and tell them what i need. all you have to know is the dogs weight. it cost me about $18 per pill. not sure what happened with the fleas in the yard but they were gone shortly after giving the dogs these pills.

i have had really good luck with it. the last time i was in the vet getting these pills, he was telling me of another pill they came out with that also includes heartworm prevention. i think its call triflexis. i think i'm going to try these.

SIMPLE & NOT EXPENSIVE

Get Bayer Tree & Shrub or Dominion T&S. I got Dominions at my feed store. The quart bottle lasts a LONG time.
Get a 30CC syringe - no needle
Put 15-17cc of the T&S in stripes onto the dog's back, make sure it gets onto the skin - this for approx 60-70 lb. dog. In about 12 hours your dog becomes a flea killing machine. Fleas only need one blood meal of treated dog to die. Cycle is broken because fleas don't live to reproduce. If the liquid is not getting onto skin easily, thin it with a little rubbing alcohol. Repeat about every 30 days if necessary. You might only need to repeat a couple of times a year if your dogs happen to pick up fleas at hunts and shows.
I've been using T&S for at least 4-5 years - it works & it's CHEAP to use.

If your yard, kennel or house is flea infested, spray thoroughly with "Home Defense" available at Walmart & let it dry before allowing dogs to have contact with sprayed area AFTER you've treated them with T&S.

bifen(or talstar- same thing) and i.g. regulator mixed in the same sprayer and area SATURATED!!!

one ounce of each together per thousand square feet in as much water as you can get it out in. a dial-a-mix hose end sprayer set on two tablespoons will give best saturation. spray ALL areas- in and under dog houses. problem solved. for about two months anyway.
