My real good english male dog apparently figured out how to un snap his chain.

A week ago I came home from work and went out back to feew and water my two dogs. My male dog was gone but this wasn't the first time he'd gotten lose. Every previous time he's gotten lose he has came up and layed on the porch until I got home. Well not this time. I have a nice sized woods behind my house so at 3 40 in the afternoon on an 80 degree day I figured I had better walk back there to see if I could hear him. Sure enough I walked back there and I could hear him treed. I got to him and he had a big ol coon up a big oak tree. I thought shew got lucky there.

Well I went to feed and water them this past Saturday afternoon around 1 pm. I went back out there around 7 pm to get my female to go hunting and when i did my male dog was gone again. I went to the hunt and hoped to hear him treed behind my house but I couldn't hear him treed anywhere.

He has my name and number on his collar but nobody has called. It doesn't look to promising that I will ever see him again. I logged alot of miles behind that dog, driving and walking and trained him from nothing to a very nice dog. I don't want to even try to think about how many coon that dog has treed for me.

It's a real shame. Now I only have one good dog. I hate to think of having to start another.

I think I would be building him an excape proof pen so this would be his last trip to the woods with out me. I sure hope you find your dog. Sure hope when you do it don't get out of the box till you have something it can't get off of or out of.
A good one is way to hard to make to lose. Good luck

I think I would be at the next local hunt or two with a pic of it too. If some one got it they may be trying to give it away too. I have had 2 people in here trying to give me hounds yesterday.

Just went thru this also. Call the sherriff's dept. Thats how I got mine back. The people that picked her up called them.

Sure hope you get him back. Try two collars,two snaps and acouple swivels on his chain.

Oh my gosh my local dog shelter just called me.

I called them a week ago and gave them all my info in case he showed up there.

She said he was red and white in color and a beautiful english coonhound. Strange thing is she said he had no ingo on his collar and was found close to the dog shelter.

the dog shelter is 10 miles away and I know my name and number was on his collar. So I'm thinking someone dropped him off.

I'm not positive it's him but i'm 95% sure it is because he's fixed and not to many coonhounds are fixed.
