need helpE

What do you do when your 6 month old pup will strike a coon on its own then when the other dogs out there tree it an the pup just keeps running an walring till he moves on an finds another track. He will not stick around the tree to catch him an tie him back. He just wont tree. Wants to keep runnin. I know she's not running deer cause the other dogs will back her then tree an it be there or be a den

Try her by herself - if that doesn't work keep her on the lead till the other dogs tree then tie her back to see te other dogs treeing - shoot the coon out but dont let her have it let the other dogs get it and let her just watch and see whats going on - do this a couple of times then cut her out with the others again and see if she'll start treeing.

Whats your hurry?

The pup just isnt ready to tree yet...Forcing it can cause more harm than good.

I agree with wat Josh said which goes along with wat I said. Lay the pup up till about a year old. If u lead her into trees then u will do nothing but teach her to be a me two machine.

A little bit of each of the couple of suggestions. Hunt it by itself and walk it in on leash, too. Fuss over it at the tree when it is tied back at times and other times fuss over the other dogs. It is a pup. Don't expect wonders out of it yet. Let it mature, but, try to keep the bad habits to a minimum or not at all. Every pup is unique in that it has its own personality. Finding the right key to making that individual pup is in watching what makes it click.
