Need some suggestion???

I have a redbone pup that just turned 7 months old. Ive been hunting a bit and keepin n the woods when i can. Ive ran him alot with other dogs and he goes good with'em. Ive showed him some cage coons and he does ok to good on them. I took him by himself more lately and first nite i took him by himself he treed a bobcat, he hit the track and ran it a lil while and located about 3 times and started choppin for bout 30 seconds and stopped but he stayed around the tree, i wasnt to far from where he was and i shined the tree and there it was. How do i keep him from runnin them and start treein coons, and stayin on tree?

How is this redbone bred? Some dogs are more attacked to some animals then others. I would be real happy if I had a pup that would tree a bobcat on its own. But if you want it to tree coons just keep working with it I would not start scolding it for treeing off game yet though

hold on tight to that pup he will make a dog. i hunt my dogs on coon cat and bear and a cat is by far the hardest thing ive hunted. probaly why ive enjoyed runnin them so much because its a challenge.

keep um straight

What ever you want your dog to stay on, keep him on. Don't run coons with him after he's been on bears. All you'll do is confuse the dog.
