how to build a dog box

i have tried to look at instructions and plans online but i cant seem to find any... i was wondering if yall could help me make a plan or if yall already had a plan.. ive got a chevy 2500, so one big enough for the bed on it... i want two sections in it to be able to haul 2 dogs.. ventilation.. and a storage compartment on top would be nice... and any other features yall have come up with that are useful... i would like to be able to rig off it too... thanks!

I built one a few years back, fully insulated, aluminum wrapped, top storage and really like how it turned out, however it still cost me about the same as a nice used one.

I used quarter inch luann plywood and sandwiched 3/4" pink board insulation in between two sheets with 1x1's framing the outside perimeter, make four of these, two sides with vent holes cut out, one front with door openings cut out and a back, screw all these together through the 1x1's with 2 and 1/2" screws. Cut a bottom out of treated plywood and screw to the bottom. For the doors and vents I welded frames out of 1" angle iron then welded up doors and vents out of square tubing. Make a divider out of plywood and screw inside, then screw some supports around the inside of box however deep you want the storage and cut another piece of plywood for the bottom of your storage comparment. Make a top out of 1/2" plywood wrap everything with aluminum coil stock and trim with aluminum angle iron. Attach top with a piano hinge and attach a lock. This will make a nice professional looking box...........all for the price of a nice professionally made used one.

Your better off buying a used box. I found one in the classified section for 75.00. I have had it for three years now.
