Montana HB576, reclassifying mountain lions as predators

This bill would negate all the hard work houndsmen have done achieving a model quota system to regulate mountain lions in Montana. It would strip our mountain lion big game season for archery, general, and winter hound season. We would not be able to justify or count lion harvest and defend our position to hunt and pursue lions. Boone and Crockett has a long history of not registering trophy lions from states who declare them a predator. It is a bad idea in every way - but it has made it to bill form in the Montana legislature and will have it's first hearing Thursday, March 17, at 3 pm at the Helena capitol. Call your friends, call your congressmen, write letters to the editor - make some noise and kill this bad bill before it gathers momentum.
