Hold down the enter and map buttons while you press the power button to turn the unit on. A box will show on the screen asking you if your sure you erase all user data click yes. U should be good to go.

You might also want to run Webupdater to make sure you have the latest updates. Here's a link to webupdater if you don't have it. http://www8.garmin.com/support/down...ails.jsp?id=931

Not sure why you would need to do this every feature on the unit has a individual reset or delete or calibration option. As far as range and software goes maybe what you really need is to update your system? Have you ever updated it before what version do you have? The latest version update currently is a 3.50.

Factory data reset:
1. Turn system on
2. Press Menu
3. Press Menu (again to bring up main menu)
4. Press Advanced
5. Press Settings
6. Press System
7. Press Menu (this will bring up a small menu)
8. Press Restore Default

*Last option on screen is Software Version, enter to see which version you have if less than 3.50 you need a update. There are details on this forum for how to do this. You need a cord and will have to go to the Garmin website to do this.

Clear all the tracks, and restore the default.
