Coon Calling

Anyone ever do daytime coon calling? I know this forum is about dogs treeing, but sometimes ya gotta have fun during the day!! I've tried it a couple times and had no luck. I think I must have done something wrong.

Holding a 12 ga. over a hole in a den tree during the day isn't my idea of coon hunting with a squaller going. Den trees just mean another coon to run next time.

I'm all about listening to the hounds run, but I saw an ad in a magazine about daytime coon calling and I would like to try it sometime. I think it could be fun but i'm sure it would take a great deal of luck for it to actually work. However, I don't think i'd use a 12 gauge because it would sure put your hides in the damaged pile at the sale!!!

Tom

I've used a electronic Fox Pro caller that worked for me
Try calling right b-4 day break or as it's getting dark along corn fields
& use a red or amber lens light to check the tree every 5 or 10 minutes
good luck dw
