Marshall collar lights vs. tracker flash

I'm already in the market for some new tracking collars, mine are getting weak. And like all the functions/ warranty that marshall has to offer. Especially the down dog feature. I would like to use lights on my dogs, and the tracker flash add ons look good.

So if you were already needing new trackers would you go ahead and buy the marshall and forget about the tracker flashes? Or buy a cheaper collar and add the tracker lights to the collars. Anybody used both and give good and bad for both options?

I have a Marshall with the lights. I also have a couple of tracker flashers. I use the tracker flashers even on my marsall. The marshall when the lights are turned on the batteries lasted at the most about 8 to 10 hrs. they also turned themselves off at times. With the flashers and the marshall collar and I leave the lights off on the collar, use the collar for tracking and put a flasher on it. I have gotten over a month on the collar without the lights and even longer on the flashers. I really like the Marshall collar for tracking it has a longer range then my other collars and is a lot smaller. I would buy a cheaper collar and use flashers. JMO.

Both have their advantages

The Marshal's light is visible from the front better than the Flash, but the Flash is more visible from the rear.

I've got 2 lighted Marshalls and 2 tracker flash lights. Same colors of blue and green. When hunting 1 or 2 dogs I slip the trackers on the Marshall collars matching the colors together and the trackers flashing. Lots of light this way. If I get out with up to 4 dogs I put the trackers on the other collars so they all got lights. I can still tell who it is when I see them by the colors and the trackers are flashing and the Marshall are steady.
For the price I don't think you can do much better than the Tracker Flash Lights.

Run em both

The more lights the better!!! I wouldn't worry about $25 if it gives someone a better chance at seeing AND AVOIDING your dog on the road. Use both.....You wont need a walking light to get out of the woods either. The Tracker lights and Marshall lights have more than paid for themselves around here. I have the RED ones my hunt'n buddy has the GREEN ones. I think the green is the brightest so far. I just don't think green means STOP!(JMO) We didn't like the blue ones, might try orange next.............Jon
