Another hunting dog shot…
This time it was a Labrador owned by Jimmy Jessie of Spiceland, Indiana. Jimmy called me this morning asking for advice concerning his dog being shot by a neighbor. He said his local CO was helping with a criminal investigation, I suggested he contact the county prosecutor as well. I also suggested he start a civil case, but he did not know an attorney who would be experienced with this type of case. I gave him a few contact numbers.
Here is the Indianapolis Channel 8 “WishTV” news coverage of the incident which is much more favorable to the dog owner than stories I’ve seen in the past. This could be because the dog was a dock jumping Labrador that was also the family pet and not a Coonhound. WishTV actually goes to the extent of quoting the law against shooting someone else’s dog, which I applaud them for:

Overall I believe our message is getting out; “Don’t Shoot My Dog”!
