went huntin a couple nights ago,and i lost my dog on the tracker,i walked to where it said he was at,and as i got closer it picked him up and as i got closer it said i was right on top on him,i looked and looked and listened and listened and the tracker was right he was right there in front of me INSIDE the tree,he sounded like he was a mile away.thank god it was cold and i could see his breath comin out of a hole bout 15 ft up,i had a heck of a time gettin him outa there, cause he was tryin to get to that coon that was a growlin at him, never had him do that before, coons must not b movin that good or he's retarted, lol

I had one do that once in a hunt the judge assured me ther was no holes and I said he is in something. He was the only dog treed so we waited the 5 and walked up there and he was up inside the tree I was a little nervous thinking it was opposum cause the other dogs we not there but we looked it the tree and the coon was sitting about 5 feet up. Man I was on cloud nine after that. my dog treed the only 2 coon on that cast that night.

Thats a common occurence around here. There are literally hundreds of old coal mines where people used to mine housecoal and coons around here love to den in them.

I have also had dogs get inside of big beach trees several times.

I took a big minus in a hunt one night because my dog was on the inside of a den tree. It sounded like he was in a hole so I didn't tree him. The other dog was standing on the outside of the tree and the guy said he would stay in a hole anyway, so he treed his dog. Went in to them, saw what was going on, but we did see the coon so I got my strike minused and he got plus both ways. Bad thing was my dog treed the coon first.

the white female coondog on my webpage did that 3 times in 3 different trees and once in a corvert under a gravel road.
she was like a angus cow,if the coon went inside something big enought she could get her head in she would make her body go somehow if the coon was in there.
