I can relate to the senile part.

Mear's Finley River Dan was the first one. In my opinion the best reproducing son of Finley River Chief. Lonnie placed 6th I believe with Dan in the 1970 World Hunt, the same year Finisher won it.

Lonnie has kept and been line breeding back to his original dog, old Dan since that time. He placed in the top 20 of the World Hunt 3 years in a row in the 90's with his Lonnie dog.

He had Dan III. Sold Finley River Sonny, Finley River Banjo's daddy. He offered Finley River Jeff and Tom at stud along with some others.

Lonnie Mears has did more then his part to improve the walker breed and he did it by staying with his original hound.

Amen. Can't go wrong linebreeding on Old Dan. Had nothing but coon dogs out of him and his offspring since 1978. Thanks Lonnie for your dedication to the Walker breed.
