Garmin ?

sometimes the screen shows a straight line to the dogs. what is this from and how do i turn it off or on. doesnt always show it just sometimes. dont know how to get rid of it. it shows the dogs on the map okay. i cleared tracks and start new hunt and it still shows sometimes.

thanks
scott

Not sure if this is what you are experiencing but when I leave a collar on at the truck, such as on a dog in the box or a coller on the dash so I can find the truck easier, it does that at times and yes, it is annoying. If you zoom in or out it erases the line.

Mine does it too, I think it is probably some small glitch in the software.

With mine it's when I have turned the collar off somewhere else, like huntin on land X last week and then I turn the collar back on at land Y.

It will find the collar and draw a straight line to it when you start tracking it, and I think (going from memory here obviously) that it will also draw a straight line from land X to land Y (where the collar was when you turned it off last and where it is now).

I don't use the "stop tracking" mode so I don't know if it does it on that or not.

It may even do it if you turn the hand held off too but I can't remember for sure.

Mine does the same thing that srp described. It's just a glitch, not caused by anything that the user does. On mine, it usually draws a line in between two dogs that are out working. I fix it by zooming in or out one page.

That's different then. I haven't noticed that happening on mine, but it probably has.

mine seems to do it alot when i power everything up at the house then go huntin n start a new hunt. i will show a straight line to the house. it also will do it from the hand held to the collar. no real consistancy on how it will show.
i will have to check on the collar in the box while one is out. i usually dont have one on in the box n it still does it.
i know of 2 diff. versions of software that does it. do not have the newest yet but sounds like that might be doing it too.

Mine does the line thing every nite. That doesn't bother me as bad as when the screen gets green or bright white and I can't see anything. It dissapears when I tinker with the zoom button usaly. But I have had to turn it off and back on on a few ocassions.

Mine does the same thing. When I'm hunting 2 dogs it sometimes draws a line from one dog to the other. I zoom out and it goes away. I think it is some kind of glitch where the info. from collars is cross pollinating...

Never ask a man what kind of dog he has. If he has a hound he'll tell you, if he does not, you don't want to shame him by asking.
