I will be honest & say I am very fond of her wholesome sweet country root's. Also fond of her voice & song's.

When I heard she supported & contributed to "People Eating Tasty Animal's" I had to scratch my head a lil.....................

She is now a radical anti hunter/animal "rights" activist.

Hollyweird turned her when she was on American Idol (wife loves the show, I can't stand it).

She first started promoting AR then.

yeah she's good looking and has a pretty voise and everything and I like some of the songs she sings, but here views definitely don't mirror the views of the majority of people who listen to her music. kinda reminds me of the dixie chicks. Fame screws up a lot of people.

I think a lot of famous and especially newly famous folks are into all sorts of "fashionable" tree-huggin, salad eatin, anti hunting and hunting dogs, etc. type stuff. In other words, it's probable she's fallen in with a bad crowd.

Hunters Rail Against Carrie Underwood’s New Song Raising Cash For HSUS

Earlier this week, Carrie Underwood announced that she will be donating a portion of the proceeds from her new version of Mötley Crüe’s Home Sweet Home to The Humane Society of the United States. Underwood’s song will get the prime-time treatment each week on American Idol — as the show has adopted the single as its goodbye theme for voted off contestants.

Of course, not everyone is a fan of this charitable donation — particularly the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, a lobbying and hunters rights group. “Carrie Underwood has decided to use her talents to benefit an organization dedicated to destroying the rights of thousands of her fans,” Rick Story, vice president of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, said in a news release. “HSUS does not operate or oversee animal shelters; it is a radical organization that seeks to end hunting and other responsible uses of animals in America.”

The U.S. Sportsman Alliance is urging hunters across America to contact executives at FOX Broadcasting and “demand that Underwood’s song not be given a stage to raise money for HSUS.”

Um, yea, good luck with that one. Underwood is a heavy star and FOX isn’t going to drop her single and alienate her music because some hunters are upset at her choice in charity. ‘Nuff said.

It will have to be a portion from the sales of the single because the songwriters (Motley Crue) get the biggest piece of the pie because they own the rights to the song.

I read in an article like 2 years ago about her upbringing in the country, at the time she started dating another country singer I cannot remeber his name but when she found out that he hunted she gave him the choice her or hunting. I have not listened or pay attention to her since then.

i don't buy her songs and i don't listen to her. kind of hard to be billed as sweet and gentle when you sing a song of violence and destruction of property. sorry just deosn't work in my book. just another reason for me to tune in to the oldies and not listen to this new country hillbilly rock stuff.
and if she did give that guy that choice i hope he took the high road and told her to get lost. i would have. no one and nothing gets between me and my dogs.
hmmmm wonder what some of the radio stations would do if there was a call in campaign to not play this song?????????? propbably wouldn't work in the urban areas but might put a spotlight on it in the rural areas.

she has been a vegetatrian since age 13 and always an animal rights activist even though having a rural upbringing... have no qualms about someone pusuing their beliefs as long as they do not interfer with the rights of others....

She may have been a pseudovegitarian but she didn't have a problem with what other people did until she got in with those in hollywierd.

I don't mind her having her opinion and doing what she wants with her money.

I do have a problem with her not being vocal about it until she had a large share of the market and now radio stations and fans that don't agree with her agenda will be funding it.

I would like some type of public information campaign revealing just how she would like to take our rights away so that her fans can make the decision to support or not support her AFTER they know how militant she is.

Not the sweet "I like animals" that she presents, but the fact that she wants to make sure hunting is outlawed.

Opposing folks for supporting the HSUS and such is no different than them opposing us ... in a mud slinging contest , even the winner is covered in it .

For folks who do love animals and a sensitive ... those groups rescue and re-home alot of abused animals.

The factions of those groups that want to outlaw hunting and interfer with what we do .... they are radicals and would be radical about something no matter what group they were affiliated with .

We take the rap for all the hunters who carry their kills across their hood , leave their beer cans in the fields and are otherwise jackasses .... and we still ask the public to not judge us by what they see the most of .

I choose to extend the same courtesy to others .... and deal with all groups on a person -by- person basis just as I'd like them to do for me .

ummm no not exactly.

Like I said before she has every right to be an animal rights activists, but she needed to be honest about it and come out and say she would like to make many of her fans criminals by outlawing hunting.

I agree that she has just as much right not partaking in my business just like I have the right not to support her since she is using the money from those songs to outlaw hunting.

There is nothing wrong with that, it's her right to be an AR activist, it's my right to make sure I inform everyone I can about her agenda and not support killing my own sport.

I never said she didn't have a right to do what she did, and we have lots of freedoms in this country, but there are consequences for your actions.

If she loses fans because of trying to outlaw something they love she only has herself to blame and absolutely no one else.

Supporting her is the same as activly donating money to ban hunting.

There is a fundamental difference here. I do not want to outlaw her singing, she wants to outlaw my hunting. I don't want to take away any of her rights, she wants to take mine away from me.

That is a HUGE difference.

Hmmm

Rip,I agree with you 100%.Celebrities use their fame to influence people and act like they have a better idea of reality but they are so far out of touch it is funny.I refuse to support or listen to these people as they dont represent the very people who pays their bills ,the ARights people are not typically country music fans so we are paying her to fight against our rights. As Earl Pitts would say wake up AMERICA.

Yeah, even though Miranda gets on TV every year and shoots a big buck to help boost her ratings, and then has a celebrity yard sale last year and donated all of the proceeds to HSUS. Yeah, go hang out with her.

It's a fact that Miranda and Blake hunt and fish.......so we know they know they hunt and kill.

Miranda is a dog lover so it makes me wonder if she thinks HSUS donates the money to all the little private Humane Societies all around the country.

Reason I say that is she did a concert earlier this year for a local Humane Society in Texas.

Many people think that if they donate to HSUS, it is shared with the local Humane Societies but HSUS doesn't share those donations to all those local Humane Societies. Alot of people are duped.
