hunting in frost and east wind

I'd like to hear some thoughts on conditions that people don't like to hunt in, other than pouring rain and blizzard type conditions.
I don't think I've ever done much good in an East wind and if frost falls on tracks that are already laid I think it makes it tough tracking. I've always tried to go by that old saying when the wind is from the east you catch the least, and when the wind is from the west you catch the best.

If folks would quit accepting excuses , they might breed/hunt better dogs.

If it is REALLY dry like it was 2 weeks ago it's hard to find a track. Or if it's really cold. I can't take the super cold.

If you don't know whether I hunt coon or not , how you supposed to convince us that you know anything about coonhunting?

I have not seen any difference with fullmoon or new moon. But then again i am in ohio and I dont think a whole lot makes to much of difference. except those real cold nights then I wont go at all. Same with the hot weather. If it real hot and humid I dont even go outside at all, Imsure as hell not going to make my hound run in the heat.
What I do like is a little breeze and a day where it has drizzled rain all day and has stopped by night fall or is still misting and some cloud cover. And you get out of the truck and you smell nothing but the wet leaves in the air........I love this time of year. Better get out there while you can cause it will be down right cold and freezing in a few weeks around here.

I will say that some nights are better than others , but if a person starts making excuses , where does it end?

This week , it might be OK if the dog screws up 3 times because of the weather.
Next week it goes to 5 , then to not treeing a coon all week , and on and on and on................
Like I said , where does it all end?
