Killing alot of coon

Why do hunters get so worked up over seeing a bunch of coon killed? It's like they think they own all the coon or something, like coon are there property. Anytime someone posts a pic with alot of coon killed people get all bent out of shape! Why is that?

Most of the time when someone gets all bent out of shape over a pile of coon killed I'd guess they were from some place with a THIN coon pop. and doesn't know what it's like to hunt in thick coon.

Becouse in some parts of the country if you kill many coon there isn't any for the rest to hunt or train there dogs on even. They forget to look at were the con were killed. People on here seam to judge each other like they were all hunting in the same conditions. Just the nature of the beast. lol
I hate to see the ones that take the biggest and leave the culls for breeders in deer ,coon or anything else.

It's called empathy .... like when you see on the news some little girl has gotten kidnapped or hurt ... it's not you ... it's not your little girl ... by your logic why should we care ?

We don't live in farm country , if we took coon like they do in the cornbelt then it would take years to replenish them ... I've experienced that .

So , when I see or hear of what you just mentioned ... it's a knee jerk reaction for me to think " oh , crap .. why are yall killin' all those coon" .... and I want to empathize with hunters in that area who won't have coon in their hunting spots.

I think it's jealousy.
They're jealous that they either don't have enough coon or enough dog to tree that many.
Same as anything else , if you have it and they don't , you're a bad guy.

I JUST HATE TO SEE THE HOGS. WE TAKE A FEW AND LEAVE OTHERS FOR SEED. WE DEFINETLY WILL NOT KILL ALL WE TREE. AND IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE IN A TREE, ONLY ONE WILL BE TAKEN.

I ALSO DISLIKE THE PICTURES THAT ARE IN POOR TASTE. ANIMAL PEOPLE WILL USE THEM AGAINST US. I GUESS TRUTHFULLY THEY WILL USE ANY OF THEM AGAINST US IF THEY CAN.

I killed 10 coons last year for me and a couple of friends to eat.We don't have the best coon population in the world so I only shoot what I need.
I don't care about how many you kill, what I can't stand is the ones who skinn them out and leave the meat to go to waste just for a 2 dollar hide.

Never ate coon. Gotta ask how it taste. Seems like it would be awfully greasy

Here in Northeast Missouri there are plenty of coon.If you hunt all year round when it comes kill season you have a good idea what places you can kill a few or what places could use a good thining out. We've had distemper problems in the past wipe out spots that had such thick coon it was unhealthy. So i guess what im saying is use good judgement and pick your spots accordingly. Because there is such thing as an overpopulation.

I think maybe dog would be what it's most like. I'd rather have beef steak myself. If it's tough it's the cooks fault! It don't taste like chicken but some folks say they can cook it so it's finger lickin good.

People that kill coon out of season around here is something that kills me. I cant stand people that will lay in the house all winter and soon as spring breaks they start hunting and brag about shooting a bunch of coon out all spring and summer.

Just cook it like you would a brisket. BAR-B-Q!!!!!!!!!!!!!
China doesn't have any thing against dog.......... I have had some in tamales. Best tamales I ever had. Didn't know it was dog and cat at the time. They didn't catch the guy doing it till later but it was good till he went to prison. lol
We has pet pigs, cows, coon, prairie dog, chicken hawl, chickens, lama, horse, kangaroo mice and a lot I am sure I have left out BUT if it taste good and you are hungry enough you just eat it.
I think that is whats wrong with the animal rights people. They never been hungry enough to have to cut somethings throat and eat it. First kill is allways the hardest.

What gets me is some of the older competition hunters around here have to kill a coon every night they hunt, which is year round, either for their pups or still tuning up an old dog for a hunt next week ! and they probably kill a couple hundred a year including kittens! Then have the gall to bitch about hide hunters that only hunt during season for killing a couple hundred them legally.
