rule question

after the draw out cast 1 has a meeting to dicuss where and when they would go handler a says he will meet the cast at the first hunting spot at 9pm if he is going to hunt handler a knows where to meet the cast.. at 9:15 pm handler a has not showed up so the cast proceeds to the woods and hunts their 2 hrs
they return to the club about 1 hr after they return handler a comes in and asks why they did not wait they said they waited until 9:15 handler a nor the other cast member returned after handler a did not show up at 9pm my question is should the cast be scratched or should the cast scores stand??

1st Why didn't the cast wait longer? 2nd Why did he leave the cast to begin with. 3rd If he did leave the cast then he is scratched, (I believe)
Did the handler who did not get to hunt sign the card??? If not then the cast is scratched.

Bad situation. Cast should have returned to the MOH and one hour started. Since they did not return to the MOH the cast members that hunted sould have been scratched.

The Cast Is Scratched

If the cast members are seperated, they are to return to the MOH. It didn't matter if they were there ready to hunt in the first drop. Handler A was wrong in saying he would have met you there. Your cast needs to leave from the clubhouse. If you would have returned to the MOH, he would have only scratched handler A, in this case he should scratch you all.

I would like to know more on this one...

I will clarify one thing, he is not scratched for leaving the cast. That is an in the woods scratch, not a follow me to the drop spot rule.

I do not know why he did not travel with the cast to the hunting spot but in this instance the cast should have returned to the MOH. By going on hunting you are opening yourselves up to being scratched in accordance with rule 6q.

Tank, that little trick has been used before LOL. Handler A starts driving slow and don't keep up with the cast. Next thing you know you can't see A anywhere. You slow down and finally decide that he must be lost. By the time you get back to the club he is sittin with the master of hounds with a fresh new scorecard and a big grin on his face cause he turned around immediately and by the time you realized he was gone and got back the hour got you. Now he gets to hunt by himself. Of course now handler A plays it all innocent and claims he really did get lost and you drove off and left him. Saying you were driving reasonable does you no good cause they put the hour on you as soon as he got to the clubhouse and now he gets to hunt all by himself.

Any way folks can get an edge they will. I know it didn't happen that way in this instance or the guy would have went back to the club and got the other three scratched, probably was an honest mistake. But because of the above I make sure I really watch for that last truck in line when I guide and if he starts hanging back I make sure to slow down enough that I can keep him in my mirror.

MORE INFO

HANDLER A said he was going home to do something and that he would meet them at the drop site IF HE WAS GOING TO HUNT
so the judge assumed since the handler didnt show up he was not going to hunt he didnt get lost going to the drop site he knew where they were going to hunt

I think that common sense should come into play somewhere.Handler A should be held responsible for his own actions. The rules do not cover all the stupid things people do.
