Posion Oak

I have got this stuff 2 times this year / 1st time doctor has me do 6 days of steroids & it cured / now have it again & was wondering / What do you use to get rid of / I am using a couple different things now that are not working / don't really want to go the steroid route again / Any suggestions on how to get this cleared up would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Tom Knapp

Scratch it with something like a brush or tooth pick and then pour bleach on it... It hurts, but it will be cleared up and you only have to do it once. and before anyone says anything about it being harmful, it isn't. Bleach and alcohol are the main chemicals in most "anti- posion ivy/oak" oitments... In the summer months when I'm hunting and think I'm around it, I take a rag with bleach on it and wipe it on my skin. It helps prevent from getting it.

I don't like pouring straight bleach on myself....I usually make a mess is the reason......but I pour it in the tub and soak for a few minutes. It will sure clear it right up!!!

my husband has used bleach, not pleasant but it will work, i have also had him use real lemons, cut one open, and rub it all over the poison ivy, oak, etc. also, take a benadryl, it helps get it from the inside out, because it is an allergic reaction, none the less.

Everyone has a bottle of cheap aftershave that the kids got you. Stings a little but dries it up and stops the itch, and smells better thn bleach.

Be careful though if you leave smellin good the wif wont believe your going to the woods LOL.

Burt's Bees Poison Ivy Soap works. I used the steroid cream and other stuff but swear by the soap.

be a little careful with the bleach, it will give you a chemical burn if you use to much. happened to my son. not sure how much bleach he poured in the bath.
