State Race

Is there anyone working on getting a state race started? There was a thread on here about it but I don't see it now.

OKIE,
There was a proposal sent up there, and i'm sure it will be discussed at some point. I know that with the World hunts, both coon and beagle, and with a few other things going on up there, the time they have is limited. They are still in the catch up mode, but i don't believe the idea is dead by any means.

Thanks Robert, I was hopeing it was still in the works. I knew they were talking pretty positive about it. I know they have a lot on there plate and wouldn't blame them if they didn't want any more. I didn't realise they were still dealing with the world stuff. I am sure you are right. When they get cought up they will probubly bring it back up. Sounds like a fun thing to get involved in.

That is state champ. A state race goes by points over the whole year and maybe a little money won. I am going to Ada. Maybe I will see you there.

The beagle state races work off a cast win with plus points against comp. 1st is 10, 2nd-8pts 3rd-6pts and 4th is 4 pts. All the dogs are together as far as pts in each state(Reg,champs, and grands but they don't hunt with each other. 1 overall race for the top spot. That dog gets a automatic bid for the Run-off. Then they have a Top 10 hunt-off in each state to determine the 2nd dog that gets another bid for the Nat. Run-off. The run-off winner gets a prize package and some Loot$$$$

The kind of state race for coon dogs they were talking about was going off all wins all year and the one with the most cast win + points wins the race. You would pay a fee to be in the race and the winner would get part of the entry. I hope that is the way they do it so there will be more people at the local hunts.

Got best male and made Waylon a Ch. but didn't do any good in the hunt. I sure had a great time and met a lot of great people. The guys I hunted with both nights were all great people and the people that run the concession stand there you will never find better people or better cooks. I don't know the ladies name but the one that makes the pie there makes the best Apple pie I have ever had bar none.
Thanks to everyone involved for putting on such a great hunt.

Oh and for the one that stole all my leash's and choke collar off my pen. I hope they bring you many years of service. The blue cable one had never been put on a dog, the one with my name on it is older but still in great shape. I would take my name off and put yours on. The choke collar is a herm and springer, the best you can buy so it should last you a life time. The little leather leash is a good one but not stout enough to hold much of a hound. I used it to show with. Good luck with them all.
Thanks for leaveing my dogs. I noticed when I got back I had forgot to lock the gate.
