Went hunting last night had a good ending to a bad situation. We had treed a coon and decided to move to a corn field down the road. The dogs struck and were really moving a track, thought they were going to catch it before they got out of the field. They came to the road and went back down into the ditch. I told my buddy my dog was barking into a hole or something. I ran down to her and she was barking into what looked like a hole. When I grabbed her I could hear his dog barking. I hollered at him and said your dog is in a culvert. The culvert was about 2 ft. down and about a 15" hole running down to it. We could hear his dog and the coon fighting. I tied my dog to a tree and ran across the road to the other end of the culvert and it was completly under water. He hollered at me to come help him. He had reached down into the end of the culvert and caught one of his dogs feet. I got hold of the other one and we pulled him back to where we could get a better hold. We then had to turn him over on his back to pull him up and out of the culvert and hole. He is a 70# Plott and we couldn't bend him enough to get him out the other way. We decided we had enough by then and went home. The culvert was no more then 15". We were lucky. I guess all's well that ends well.
