the best dog food for the price

i have been feeding purina dog chow and puppy chow for years and now they have went up on the price and took more out of the bag you get.it is now higher than ever and they need to go back to 50 pound bags.this purina is starting to be a joke and people around here have went to the old yeller brand at krogers and i was wondering what would be best for my hounds far as protein and fat and i want a good quality dog food for a better price than purina.purina has good dog food and my hounds hold up on it when hunted five or six nights a week and i need the same quality but at a lower price.any one know what will help me????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Hi-Standard for the quality and price cannot be matched in my area here in Missouri. Everything in this area has went nuts on price, and the quality has dropped also.

I have gone on a dog food search for the last 6 months. I have tried what seems like a million things. I will tell you this. If you have the means the diamond extreme athlete was a super high quality feed. It was pricey.....too pricey for me, but you didn't need to feed but 2 cups a day and your waste was absolutely the most minimal I have seen. I just can't drop right $38 a bag and live with myself.

Last week I decided that I would buy a big batch of Hi-Standard Puppy and just feed it to my adults and puppies. It is 32/18 and the ingredient list was excellent. I paid $25 out the door for a #40 and that is good enough for me.

Hi-Standard has a new 30-20 fresh chicken dog food and it contains glucosamine and chondroitin. I have fed 4 bags now to my foxhounds that i am running real hard and it has worked great for them. The ingredients on the back of the 30-20 are almost identical to the 32-18 puppy.

I have tried to get it, but nobody around here will carry it.

dog food

It's just plain hard to beat purina, and if you are a pro club member its 17.00 dollars for 44# not to bad for good feed that keeps a dog in good shape and you only have to give two or three cups a day depending how hard its hunted, I feed 3 cups in hunting season and cold weather, add some beef scraps in really cold wheather and hard hunting.

I used to sell & love Black Gold, but the price went up and the quality and availability went to hell. So I started calling around and tried a new, unknown feed out of PA. KENNY-O . It is great feed. I feed my hounds 21/2 to 3 cups of 26/18 a day depending. The feed is meat based with corn meal filler,no soy or wheat. Its as good as Black Gold used to be only at a more affordable price.$19.50 a bag. If interested call Kenny Ozanick 412-691-1126, he is a great guy to deal with and will work hard to get feed to you.

Purina

I live in northern ohio and sams club sells 50# purina dog chow for 21 or 22 dollars a bag. With my 10 checks from pro club for 7$ off I am paying 15$ a bag. The last 6 bags I pay regular price. Solid stools and good energy in woods. The best deal on the planet!! Puppy chow is expensive 34# for 21$.

Food

I feed 28-16 form hi-pro. We get it straight from the plant in 2000 lb totes. It costs us 150 for a ton. We just got 2 ton delivered for 300. The dogs look great and are fat as ticks.
