Emeregency medical question.

young hound has diarhea that is mostly blood. Looking sad and drolling a little today..

We dont think its Parvo... doesnt have the Parvo smell.

Hasnt been eating... yesterday was walking around.. to day just lays there.

I am gonna do some research but would love any input on this ....

Be careful !! keep a good check on the Pups Hydration "Pull Up on it Skin where the neck meets the Shoulder blades then release" It should snap back in place If its Slow on returning or remains in a pinched form Then the Pup Needs IV Fluids ...

Bloody Loose Stools could be any of 10 different things ..

Get it to a Vet ....

Understand that I am not new to hounds; been around them my whole life.

Just wanting some ideas of what it could be.

Coccidiosis and giardia has been considered and we have meds for that.


just wanted to know if there was anything out there that I havent thought of.

Really sounds like hooks to me also, people tend to under estimate hookworms but they can cause irreversible damage because they bore into the organs. I would get her to a vet asap.

He has hooks go get a bottle of iron injection about $10 from tractor supply and some pedelite give him about 5cc iron and about 10cc ped in mouth biuld his blood back up I no it sound crazy but I give them inama of that mixter at hhe same time never lost 1 yet

fried scrambled eggs high in protein easy on gut i use panicur horse wormer 3 days in row dosage based on size of dog i give my big bluetick 100 lbs + 4 turns on tube my walker 65lbs 3 turns works good they get hooks from eating off ground goodluck
