My phone works like a "mini" computer. You can open up web pages and look at them the same as you do from your home computer. I downloaded the app from photobucket so as soon as I take a picture or video in the woods, I can "share" it to photobucket. I then go to the photobucket page and copy the url link to be posted into a new message window on the ukc site here. Pretty much the same exact process of posting pics/vids as we do on here from our homes...

It's honestly amazing how technology has developed over the last few years. It's almost scary. Almost every new cell phone has gps enabled on it. If you've got gps on your phone turned on, which you need for many things such as weather forecasts and score updates to work properly, every step you make is recorded.

I look at it this way... Within the next few years (if not already) every move you make will be tracked and recorded into a database.

I've got a Blackberry on verizon but it has a different E mail address than my home computer what with vzn in it and all. I engaged the GPS part because in my business I need to mark coordinates and don't have my GPS handheld handy. To use it like a handheld GPS to lay out trails costs extra and so does the weather. It will take pics and videos but I seem to do all that the old fashioned way and download that to my computer etc and back to photobucket. A pretty big chore. So at minimun I got a feeling if I wanted to go straight to photobucket I would have to change my login and Email to the Verizon one.

Yep, you're right, no more gettin off and hiding any more. Sure glad I'm divorced and don't mess with married women. Big Brother bees watchin. I guess that's OK though. Might save my family some funeral expenses knowing my family I might get buried in a gator skin casket when they track it down. All these phones need to be more water proof. LOL

the i-phone works same as the droid does. it is amazing the technology these days. its surely a different era than what most of us grew up hunting with.

That is, if it works LOL.

The problem is AT&T has no coverage so while the Iphone is nice in town it don't work anywhere there's not an interstate LOL.

In Tennessee you can pull up the AT&T coverage map and see it's a thin strip around the interstates, and in town. Nothing in the woods. There's an area from Chattanooga to Nashville to Knoxville, that triangle is huge, that has no AT&T reception.

I phones are great but before you buy one you need to check the coverage area, then shrink that to about half what the map says. Better yet try it, you might not be able to use it in your house.

Thats cool, but not really live. Just think of how cool it would be to see some live, streaming video.

The final cast of a world hunt could be a huge spectator event. With spectators comes advertisers and with that comes revenue that might make some of these current cash purses look like chump change.

How long before a chip on or in dog will tell you where they are anywhere in the WORLD. Likely just a matter of cost and demand even now.

Trust me you guys are close to an interstate or the Iphone wouldn't work.

They have horrible reception and service area. This is well documented even in Consumer Reports etc.

Just the other night I had a friend of mine with the Iphone huntin with me. He didn't have any reception, not even enough to make a phone call for the last 20 minutes of the drive, but I was able to surf the net at the barn waiting for the rest of the crew to get there.

Huge difference in service.

It's the carrier, not the phone so much (unless you have the 4 LOL).

It's not too bad for me cause I have the Droiod X anyway.

I looked at the Iphone, and would have had one if it wasn't on AT&T.

Glad I waited on the Droid X now, especially with the reception problems of the 4.

I always wanted an Iphone because I really like them, but I just couldn't get past owning a phone that you couldn't make a phone call on because of no coverage.

Heck even in the local hospital in Johnson City the reception was so bad the hospital had to install a special AT&T tower just so the staff could use the Iphones in the hospital.

They didn't have to do that for Verizon, their phones even worked in the basement the whole time just from the regular towers.

It's that big of a difference.

I've posted from the woods a couple times over the past year but stopped doing it because the thrill of the hunt makes me sound too silly, especially if I look at it the next day. I suppose most can relate. There's enough water where I hunt that I keep the phone in a ziplock bag so I'm also afraid I'll drop it in the water if I mess with it coon hunting. I've got it made. there's an Alltel tower on a big hill on some hunting land I bought a few years ago. Even though it's 150 miles from the interstate in a low populated area, I can sit in a deer stand and surf the internet or whatever with the Blackberry phone. The tower also reaches most of my surrounding hunting spots off my land. I'm considering one of those cellular game cams but don't need another monthly bill.
