Cherry eye?

I reacently got a walker hound from someone near where i live I kindof felt sorry for her when I seen her. She has two cherry eyes. Is this something that she needs surgery for or is there a different way of fixing this? It doesnt seem to bother her but I know it has got to be annoying. Please let me know what you think she needs..... I will get her the surgery if she needs it but didnt know if there is a pill or something different before I put her through surgery. Thanks again

I was going to make her a appointment tomarrow, I just got her two days ago. She was more of a rescue from somewhere that couldnt take care of her. I hunt blueticks mostly but when I seen her I felt so sorry for her I couldnt leave her behind. Hopefully I can get her in I have seen other dogs with this that people just leave which I am not saying is bad, but it has got to be a pain to have two bludging red spots coming out of your eyes. Most of the ones I have seen has been real small and only in one eye not both.

your dogs cherry eye is nothing to worry about we also breed bloodhounds and we have it come up from time to time all it is the 3rd eye lid and your vet will have to stich it my vet charges like around $50.00 to fix them and it will not get better on its own

hope this helps

Surgery is the only way i know of to fix it. Sometimes the surgery doesn't work. Then you can have the gland taken out as a last resort. It is worth it though cause it is irritating.

I've had a few cherry eye dogs and surgery was what I had done. It doesn't bother them so I waited to make sure they wasn't culls before I spent the dollars to get it fixed.
