If he's in a dusty kennel, tie him out in the grass for a while, limit his barking, and keep him fresh water.
I have used a mixture of honey lemon and ginger, it helped, but after I gave mine a round of perdizone he got better. You have to get the predizone from a doctor, its a steroid that is used to treat poison oak.
I would let him rest out in the grass for a while first .
