Pup Training

I JUST STARTED COONHUNTING AND HAVE A 8 MONTH OLD PUP I HAVE BEED WORKING WITH. I HAVE CAUGHT AND TURNED SOME CAGED COONS LOOSE FOR HIM OUT IN THE PASTURES AROUND MY HOUSE HE COULD SEE WHERE THE COONS RAN AND THE TREE THEY WENT UP ABOUT A HUNDRED YARDS AWAY HE RAN OVER AND TREED EVERYTIME BUT I HAD SOME PEOPLE AROUND THE HOUSE TELL ME THAT I NEEDED TO DO THIS AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE DOG WOULD START ONLY TREEING ON SIGHT AND NOT BY USING HIS NOSE, AM I HURTING OR HELPING HIM BY DOING THIS IN THE DAY TIME, ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL THANKS

It doesnt hurt being in the daytime, just dont let him see it. Show it to him, then put him up. Let the coon go and then turn the pup loose 5-10 mins later.
