Question

Sara, I am looking for the owner of a dog in an old pedigree. If the owner is not listed in the breeder directory. Can I use a loophole? Say I send for a set of papers on the dog. If the dog is not mine would the papers have the name of the owner on them? Also Is it posible to get a copy of papers on a dead dog?

Why don't you just give me the UKC number of the dog and I can tell you who the owner was?

That would let the cat out of the bag. I'm trying to keep it top secret

Sara you did not answer my two questions. LOL I do not want to post the number of the dog in a public forum. There has been much interest in the pedigrees I hold. Oh, And I thought of a new question. So now there's Three.

(1). If I order a pedigree on someone else's dog will the owners name be on it? (I'm just interested because I'm looking for information on a certain dog from many many years ago and nobody knows where to look.)

(2). Can I order the pedigree on a dog that has been reported dead?

(3). I think I heard somewhere that years ago that many UKC records were destroyed in a flood or fire. Could you tell me what year that was.

I hope I don't sound rude. But I just want to know, and I think this would be the best place to get my questions answered.

PS. Thank you for answering all my questions.

Mike

1. You can order a pedigree on someone else's dog and the owner will not be shown. The owner of the sire/sem and the owner of the dam would be listed, but not the owner of the dog.

2. Yes you can order a pedigree on a dead dog.

3. No records were destroyed in a flood or fire. We have the stud books from 1898 preserved beautifully. Rumors! Where do they start?
