Try Enhanced Dog Food This is really good stuff..I fed Black Gold for years, until it got were it was not consistent. I fed 5 bags a month, I switched to Enhanced, now I buy 3 bags a month and the dogs never looked or felt better. I started out feeding the same amount of Black Gold ,after a week I noticed they were only eating about 1/2 of what I was giving them. It wasn't they didn;t like it ,,but was getting full off that portion. My feed bill went down significantly. I had one dog that was a pacer in his pen,and I contributed this for him not holding weight ,after feeding Enhanced he;s still pacing but you can't see his ribs now.

Note' I am not assc. with Enhanced Dog Food , but wish I was A dealer for them.

I feed mine Diamond. Love it - have great success. I feed puppy to the young dogs, and maintenance to the adults in the Summer and Sport dog in Winter.

I actually prefer ProPlan, but Diamond is cheaper with very similar formula and results.

You can get it at most feed stores.

Most dog food companys have their dog food made by local companys using their formulas. The problem with this is that the locals use local products and not all ingredients are the same nation wide. I bought a national brand horse feed that I had used for years and I found mold in it. Called the company and they made it right but said that the local company had gotten some moldy corn. A dog food rep. (National well known co.) told me the same thing, that they contract out.

Yep just becouse the name is the same doesn't mean the dog food is. They can't ship it every were. That is why every one has differant ideas of which one is the best. Diamond around here is as good as any unless you want to pay $30.00 for 40# and I don't eat that good myself.
Some people have stool problems becouse they just feed to much. I feed 3 - 4 cups to my dogs a day once a day. My big B&T gets 4 the other two stay just a little heavier than I really like on 3. I pay around $ 18.00 for 50 #'s at tractor supply.

I would give Hi-Standard dog food a shot. Been feeding it for awhile and really like the way my dogs look and the very low stool volume.

When I opened my store, I was a Black Gold dealer. One year later I dropped them and started selling Pride.

When you look at Native, Sportmix, Black Gold , Diamond, and who ever else They can't beat the price and quality of Pride.

Not even close to the same formula or same type of feed ....

... you get what you pay for , there is no dog food company that is dumb enough to not know what they have and charge a fair price for it ....

We have all seen the post about a certain dogfoods quality taking some serious feedback on here lately.

I get my free samples at A.O. over the weekend and I ask the guy which variety it is because it looks different than mine. He tells me it is the 28/16 and then tells me that is the way it has always looked. I state it USED to look that way but lately mine has been smaller and darker pieces. The guy kind of blows me off in front of a crowd. so the next time I am at the truck I get some I have out of the same color bag he had and take it to him. Again he wants to blow me off stated that I must be a different kind of dog food and I am trying to scam him or something along that lines. I invite him to my truck to see the bag but he won't go.

I won't list the brand because I want others to see this before it gets deleted by the powers that be.

This company has been a long time supporter of all types of hunts and I used to love it but since the appearance change it has went down hill. My dogs wont maintain weight when hunted hard.

With the way I was treated and the feed not being the same I will be making a switch.

I would like to become a dealer or distributor for a good dogfood if somebody could give me some leads on what brand

Call black gold and tell em..You will get the same excuse I did probably..Said they had used some kind of darker meat a while back LOL...He said oh dont worry its just a little different color..I said is the meat making these little star kibbles and huge chunks appear in my bag So he sent me some coupons..I've already sent 4 bags back to the dealer..Next time I go..I think I'll make them open every bag untill I get a good one..Oh I'm feeding the grey bag right now..

A FRIEND OF MINE GETS PZAZZ BY THE TON AND I GET IT FROM HIM. IT HAS BEEN REALLY GOOD FEED FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS. THIS LAST BATCH HE GOT HAD SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. SMELLED LIKE BURNT PLASTIC/ RANCID FAT. MY DOGS WOULDN'T EAT IT. SOUNDS LIKE THE WHOLE TON IS THAT WAY.
WONDERING IF THE COMPANY WILL STAND BEHIND IT OR IS THE DISTIBUTOR HE GOT IT FROM RESPONSIBLE? <v>

Arkat, and Native are both outstanding. A little more pricey but when you can actualy cut back on the ammount you feed it kind of equals out. Arkat also has a cheeper brand called Enhance that is pretty good food as well.
Native I haven't had a chance to feed much of but know some that do and really like it, but Arkat, I am a firm believer in. All I fed until I moved.
Their coats were georgous, energy levels were high. Could hunt a pretty dog "all" night long lol.

Wea they will stand behind it BUT you better be glad your dog wouldn't eat it. This isn't the first time that has happened. The shelf life isn't to good either. A lot of guys fed it and quit around here.
