A man has to love it out there. God ol mighty they have to many coons out there. This was my second year out there. These ol oklahoma dogs always look good in those easy coon. I just wanted to share with everyone what an amazing time i had out there.

I hunted the slam event. Drew out with one of those "stud dogs". ya know i never realized till we cut loose how hard it must me to make it a night in a cast with a stud dog. Everyone wants to beat a stud dogs it seems. When we met at the tent where the FAMOUS STUD DOG was i got chills down my neck thinking ol god i'm in for a beating tonight i didn't bring enough dog power to go next to a big stud dog. We cut loose first drop i struck first and shortly after treed with in about 2 min everyone else followed suit and we got there to see the stud dog on his own tree. Both trees had a coon. so that put me up by 25. We loaded up went about 1/2 mile down the road cut loose i took first strike again while the handler of the stud dog called my dog. needless to say they didn't give him the 100 minus he deserved. My dog tree barked and i treed her in for 75 right behind the stud dog. stud dog leaves and so does my gyp. Ol kandi grabbed another tree i treed her in for 125 get in there and she is in one of the biggest trees i think indiana has. After 10 min we had only shined about 1/2 so everyone voted circle. The stud dog had been treed in again and had left giving him another 125-. Dogs got to close to road and time was called. We go to another spot turn loose dogs scream out of there. After about 15 min we start walking to where they headed. We haven't heard a peep out of any dog. we go over a hill and i can here Kandi locked down. I strike in for 100 and cast decides its un fair for me to get first strike cause she is the only dog we can hear. they say its not fair to the guys hunting soft mouth dogs. WTH> So with 3 votes to one we split strike points 4 ways. We start to dogs. The guy handlin stud dogs trees him in. Knowing this is my female the only dog we can hear i let him know he just made a mistake by calling the wrong dog for the second time. But go ahead and let them start the time. after 2 runs out i tree kandi in. they look at me like i'm crazy and bet me the world that that is there dog. we get in there and they want to go into the tree when there 5 runs out but knowing that that is my dog i told them we had to wait till my tree is dead. so we did. we walked in there to see ol kandi kane treeing 140barks per min. ol stud was long gone. So to me that means ol stud has 375 minus. we shine the tree and see ol mr ring tail looking back at us. The other two dogs were present as well. after reviewing the score card that put the other walked dog at 312 1/2 and me at 262 1/2. we put time on stud no bark in 8 min so thats 62 1/2- right? so thats well over 400- dog is scratched ritght? we finally find him down the road go to another spot and cut loose and here they come out of the box with stud. I asked what was going on and they said aw just let him hunt. Now guys the problem with that is if they write anything on that score card for that dog he is costing others points. right? well we were un lucky and didn't see any coon in the next trees and circled them but ol stud did leave another tree.

Friday night. first drop first and first for ol kandi with the meat all alone. we had the black and tan and the red bone down the creek about 100 yds with some more meat then the blue dog had a coon on farther. setting the first drop score at 225 kandi 200 redbone 150 blue 125 black and tan. Next tree we split strike and all dogs treed together on big bushy tree in some thick timber. no coon was seen,. all votes went for circle. cut loose again i took first strike and first tree only to find kandi and 2 other dogs went around us to the last scored tree. The black dog made his way out in the middle of a corn field holding 25 strike. we walked all the way around 500 acre field to hear dog better and then cut loose to nothing but corn. dogs headed straight for the highway where all the cars from a football game and a demolition derby had just let out. which was alot of traffic. my dog and the blue dog crossed the highway onto posted land where the guide said the guy was very mean about dogs coming over there and had threated before. so now we have dogs running back and forth threw cars on posted land. I asked to call time out and ofcourse had one vote from the guy with the blue dog. but judge woudn't call time out. to me that is a bunch of crap. finally after 10 min of getting really upset we got time out called. we gathered dogs all alive think god. and went to new ground. dropped and kandi had first and first all alone again. with the meat. red dog left 2 trees during that time leaving the red dog at 0 the blue dog struck in for 50 and the black dog was in for 75 and was treed i cut kandi and she went str8 for the black dog. Which was a blank with no way out. so black dog took 200 minus leaving him at -75 and clock stopped at 14 min. we made our last drop and kandi struck 2 and was first to tree. on big den tree with lots of holes. and that was my hunting at ao share your stories. CAN"T WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR>

I am not sure I would be back next year after that kinda deal!
