IVE BEEN FEEDING HIGH STANDARD HI PRO FOR A YEAR NOW ,YOU CAN BUY MORE EXPENSIVER DOG FOOD ,BUT MY DOGS LOOK GOOD ,TIGHT STOOL, AND DOIN GOOD ON IT ,LAST WINTER THEY WAS ALWAYS READY TO GO HUNTIN AND DIDNT RUN OUT OF STEAM LATER RON

dont know if they sell it where yall live i fed prime by red flannel it 26 percent proiten 18 percent fat i had good luck hounds stay fat lots of go in them they seem to digest it good very little stool what they was was tight

I am beginning to beleive that over feeding is the bigest reason for soft stools. If you feed to much that is all they can do is run it out the back end. Mine was soft and I knew it wasn't the feed so I back off half a cup each and it is firm again. Went from 4 to 3 1/2 cups a day and no more problem.

OLD ROY, its great and you would not believe the deals they have on it at WalMart. haha. Im only kidding, please dont do that. A great dog food out there is "Native" they have 4 different levels of active level. its not the cheapest but really good.

Thanks everyone I have fed purina for years not that wild about them now seems something has changed just wanted to know what the best feed out their is..Been using Hi Standard latley and it seems to be ok one of my dogs runs a little hot in the summer trying to find the best nutrition for him and keep him running cool best I can..

you need to use a good name brand dog food that is NOT a corn based feed. dogs of any kind dont do good on a feed that is corn based. i use purina. its a little higher priced but if u get a cheap priced dog food u get a cheap quality dog food.

I use PURINA..........have tried every dog food listed on here except Enhance and Native,-just the Purina Dog Chow is better than most listed here. Get some Purina One or Pro Plan Performance........see what a dif it makes in your hounds.
