Black Gold

I MIGHT BE MISTAKEN BUT I FEED MY DOG BLACK GOLD AND IT SEEMS LIKE HE IS ALWAYS HIGHSTRUNG AND HYPER. COULD IT BE THE 26 PROTEIN 18 FAT IN THE FOOD OR HIS BREEDING. WHEN HE CALMS DOWN HE IS A GREAT DOG. BUT I USED TO FEED HIM DIAMOND PERFORMANCE AND HE DIDNT ACT LIKE THIS BUT I DONT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES IN DOG FOOD TO KNOW. CAN ANYONE HELP??

WHAT FOOD DO YOU FEED?

wHAT FILLS THEM UP AND HOW MUCH TO FEED.
DO I FEED THE AMOUNT ON THE BACK OF THE BAG FOR HIS WEIGHT CLASS?

Black Gold

I used it for 5 years, but it just got were it wasn't worth the price. The quality just isn't there anymore.

I feed 21/17 Pro Series Pride.

I used to feed BG for several years but the prices kept rising all the time,i switched to Sportmix and the dogs like it,perform and look good on it,plus it's $4 cheaper a bag around here.I feed 21/12 in the summer months (i don't hunt) and 26/18 during the winter months,i have "easy keepers",2 cups a day in the warm months and 3 cups a day during the cold months (hunt 3 times a week).

When I first switched to Black Gold about 3 years ago I noticed my dogs did get a little hyper acting and had more energy for a few weeks or a month. I attributed it at the time to the feed being better than what I had been feeding. Looking back now I have since upgraded feeds and did not notice it.

But like the others have said Black Gold aint what it used to be and the price went up as the quality went down. I havent fed it for about 2 years now and dont ever plan on feeding it again.
