My 13 year old son shot this gobbler I called off the roost Saturday morning. It was 21.99 lbs, 3/4" spurs, 11 1/4" beard.

This my late season turkey. I had my oldest setup for a gobbler that was hanging up. I was the contingent plan.

It seems this ole boy was sneaking in without a word.



Now, I need to see if I can't get my oldest a bird by tomorrow ... our last day of turkey season. This should be a season that we remember for a very long time.

Yep, one last hooray. One more 4:00 am wake up call!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to roost some birds tonight with no luck. It was our honey hole last year. Usually there are 3 different roost sites around this field, but I didn't see even a bird fly up.

So we are going back to one of our other 2 farms.

Final score 4 Atherton's 3 turkeys. We didn't see any gobblers this morning, but we managed to sit under a roosting hen. She started putting purring, and cutting. I asked Jared is it on your side of the tree? He said no its on your side. I replied nope it on your side. Thirty minutes later I said try to see if you can see it. She was 20 feet directly over our heads.lol
