question about snakes

Live in TEXAS on sandy land....problem with copper heads

Is there anything you can put out as snake deterrent to keep them from comming into your yard or kennel?

we use moth balls around the house they have a funky odor to them old wise tail but it seems to work not sure what other reply is talking about lol

Moth balls ! what an originla , Roosevelt idea.

What it means is copper head= pilot.
grab either end and crack it like a bullwhip.

FIND A BEE SPRAY WITH A PETROLEUM BASE, IT BURNS THEM AND THEY DO NOT LIKE IT. GET ONE YOU CAN SPRAY FROM A DISTANCE. ALSO WE HAD A FEW TRY AND GET IN OUR SHED AT OUR CLUB, WE POURED OLD MOTOR OIL AROUND THE SHED SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES THEY LEFT. GOOD LUCK.

Though I have snapped a few heads off non-poisonous ones, I dont have the reflexes for it any more.

Tractor supply makes a snake powder that works quite well. I use it around my birds to keep the egg eaters away. Would take quite a lot to do a yard though. My motto is "Killem All".
