the whitelightining , g2 , valley creek leds are all the same brightness. we compared all 3 together side by side at black/tan days.
the difference is the white lightening and g2 have controls on the head. the valley creek only has your battery control.
the WL and G2 olso droped down considerably from the high side. the valley creek was a more even drop from high - low.
i liked it better. it was more like the 51 head except alot brighter.

If your looking for something more economical, i have a bright eyes 21 volt that's plenty bright enough, cost $325.00 new and they back there warranty with no questions. I will say that a friend of mine bought a 21 volt belt light called norm's and it's even brighter, Norm backs his warranty every step of the way and in some cases will give you a light to borrow while yours is getting fixed. Norm's 21 volt belt light with smart charger, pop covers etc. runs $250.00

put a 12 volt bulb in your 21 volt light and it will be bright. the 17 volt probably has a 10 volt bulb.
