Breeding Question

What is the earliest you have bred a female in her heat cycle and had puppies?

I am talking about how many days into their heat cycle have you bred them and got puppies?

I usually breed a female around 11 days but if you are in a pinch and need to breed a little before then would would be the earliest she would take? 8 days? 9 days?

Never had any luck breeding them before their 12th day, if you are only breeding them once. 13-15 days is ideal for a 1 time breeding. They may be ready on their 10th day, but the sperm only live inside for 3 days and that usually doesn't give the eggs enough time to drop.

I AI Bulldogs and always aim for the 14th or 15th day in their cycle to do it. The success is greatly improved if you breed them on those days.

All females can be different. I had a female that I missed twice. Not knowing what was wrong, I took her to the vet on her 3rd cycle. She was ovulating on the 7-8 day of her cycle and I had been breeding her on around the 13th. so I was just missing her. We got pups by breeding her once on the 8th day. Have heard of this on several occasiions. Usually the 11-13th day are normal though.

IT WOULD REALLY DEPEND ON WHEN SHE DROPS HER EGGS, AND HOW LONG THE SEMEN WILL STAY ALIVE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD A VERY POTENT MALE WITH HIGH SPERM COUNT CAN "BREED" A FEMALE AS LONG AS 72 HOURS AFTER MATING.

WE ALWAYS KEEP THE FEMALES AND BREED THEM 3 TIMES SKIPPING A DAY, SO WE HAVENT MISSED ANY THAT WAY.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED SHIPPING CHILLED SEMEN?

Had a female years ago, would breed on 7th day routinely, and have pup,. So it is my belief that all females have the capability to be different, but that is as early as i have had
