Y'know I had a dude who breeds those Majestics (bloodhound/coonhound cross) ask me "how old did I get rid of my females" and I was so confused I couldnt understand what he was asking, and finally I figured out he thought maybe I'd "cull" an old female and he could get one more litter out of her. NOT AT MY HOUSE!! Dwayne's old retired pup trainer True went down the tubes fast last year, too arthritic to hunt, and corneas starting to cloud as well. She been spayed and lives in the house now, her job is to hold down the couch. She's on meds for her arthritis and is a happy albeit mostly stationary dog, and she doesn't owe us a thing. Our old mama dog is going strong at age 7, she looks like an old buzzard but heck I championed her out at age 7, including getting her BIS with competition, and she can tree a coon too. We might get one litter out of her, then she'll be spayed and when she is unable to hunt she too can live out her days here. A dog is not a paper plate, you don't use them up then throw them away. How 'bout some loyalty for what these old dogs have given us?
