Another Garmin Question

My buddy tells me his garmin collar will not hold a charge. Says if he charges the collar but waits two days or more to go hunting the collar will communicate to the receiver that the battery is dead and it will in fact be dead. Anybody else ever have this problem?? Is it possible to purchase replacement batteries? If so, how hard is it to replace them yourself??

Any & all input is appreciated- Thank You!!

Said he attempted to call Garmin, but was on hold for 30 minutes, got frustrated and hung up.

e mail garmin

I had a similar problem the charging port on the front of the collar was getting dirt and blood in and behind it causing it to give bad readings sometimes. I cleaned it out and it worked fine. Now when ever I go out I place a piece black type over the port…………I would email Garmin.

Take the silver plate off of the collar. Disconnect the antenna and then remove the smaller screws in the plastic. I believe there are 4 of them. Take the plate off and disconnect the battery cord. Reconnect after about 30 sec. and retry. This should solve the charging problem...
