The last day of the month we will once again be hosting the Shriners Benefit hunt in SC. Let me tell you what makes this hunt so much more special than alot of the fundraiser events that benefit Shriners. This hunt is put on by the local coon hunting clubs. York, Whitmire, Spartanburg, Lancaster, Union etc... i appologize if I left someone out. Anyways the money doesn't go through a local chapter. After having this hunt around here for probably ovet twenty yrs. we found out the local coon hunters were not getting credit for the money raised. Now a check is written and given directly to the Shriners Hospital. The South Carolina Coon HUnters if I am not mistaken have there name on the wall now for this reason.

All this rambling I know your thinking what are you asking. Well without people like you guys in the past this event couldn't be what it has been. If you wish to make a donation to this event just post on here or PM me and we'll get you hooked up with an address to send it to or get someone to stop by and pick it up.

How bout it, can we count on you. Help us help the kids. It's worth while.

Wore out set of tires (just checking to see if your reading) LOL
Sure enough anything that will raise money for this cause we will be willing to Auction off.

THIS IS A GOOD HUNT AND AT ONE TIME WAS A BIG HUNT THAT FEEL OFF THAT WE NEED TO GET BACK UP THIS IS FOR A GOOD CAUSE TALK TO DON AND SEE IF YOU CAN POST THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT THIS HUNT HAS GIVE TO THE HOSP.

My father was one of the founders of the Shrine hunt. I believe this will be the 27th or 28th year it has been held. Some years over 20,000 was donated from this hunt and although I dont have an official number I believe it would be safe to say that it is in the neighborhood of 500,000 thousand total that has been donated. At one time this hunt would put 120 to 140 dogs in the woods each night. There was a beauty pageant for the Shrine Hunt Queen that raised thousands. Also there was live entertainment on the grounds each night. All the old timers that were so instrumental in making this hunt a success are mostly deceased. Support for the hunt waned and we have been trying to rebuild it the last few years. This year the hunt will be held at Worth Mountain a beautiful facility located in western York county. This will be a great venue and the intention is to keep it there for many years.
Over the last couple of years there has been talk of some of the Shrine Hospitals closing due to lack of funds. Although singularly none of us could make a very big splash, together WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I am asking everyone to please come out and support this event in some way. Whatever you can do is great,donation or hunt,whatever. We just really want to see the event back on track.
I'm sure if you check around everyone of us knows someone who has been helped by one of the Shrine hospitals please get your heart in the right place and help us help a child and make this hunt the prestigeous event it used to be. Thank You so much for helping, Ray

Someone asked me if we would have pups at the auction.Someone else asked me if we would be interested in a pup for the auction, so after thinking this over a bit I will offer this. If you have a pup you would like to donate I would be willing to house it til the auction if the pup is in good shape. Please no sick ones. Shots are a plus cause I dont want to infect mine.
