Majestic hound size???

I am thinking about getting one someday. The biggest trait I don't really care for is their size. Does the Bloodhound size always show up? Do some come out with the build of our medium size tree dogs? I like the idea of putting the bloodhound nose into the dogs but I don't think I'd want a dog in the 80-100 pound range. Around 50 pounds is where I like a dog. Let me know if you know something about them.
Thanks.

Ed

50#s would Be much under the Majestic Tree Hound Standard.

Males around 28" tall and around 90-95#s is a very good Size when bred right and work well on Bear or Lion .. Bobcat all kinda depends on the terian and under grouth you run in . If it super thick then the 50# hound is what your looking for .

Ed,
In my opinion....
I've seen some litters that have a couple pups that stayed small, but those pups tend to carry more of the coonhound genetics and looks.......In fact, unless you were told, by lookin at-em you wouldn't know any better....normally you will see this sometimes in an F1 breeding....coonhound to bloodhound....and not all the pups will make the standard....some favor the bloodhound, some favor the coonhound. and then the magic happens when there are a handful of pups with the homoginized genes.....As you start getting into f2-f3-f4 and so on breedings, the high percentage of em will meet the breed standard.......
Majestic weight standards call out for an average weight females 75-100 and Males 85-110

I have a litter hitting the ground in about 2 weeks.....My female's (F3) hunting weight stays right around 85-88 pounds, standing 26 1/2 inches...the stud (F2) was right around 100 pounds and 2 inches taller.....Maybe they'll be a runt in the litter for ya !!! LOL !!!

good luck to you, and I hope you find what your looking for !!

I would just like to say that our Majestic is one of our best upcoming hounds. She is the largest dog we got and I would say she is around 80-85lbs. Her first bear chase/tree she stayed right with our very small and very fast 50lb black&tan. Don't under estimate the ability of these dog due to the larger size.

The area we hunt is very rocky, and lots of undergrowth. She has no problem getting or finding her way through. I would recommend a majestic to anyone. There is a possible breeding this summer if interested. I can also send pictures of her if you would like to see her size.

Love to thank Steve at Salt Lick Kennels for our Nellie!!
