slick treeing help

I have a 4 year old walker male, bought him when he was three. I hunted him two nights in western Ohio before I bought him and he looked great, good nose, fast track, stay put tree dog. I brought him back to my house and he looked good the first night but after that started slick treeing like crazy, the more I hunted the more times he would miss. I finely got mad and sent him to a friend that lives in western Kentucky to hunt him for a while. He looks great down there in the thicker coon just has he did in the thick coon of western Ohio. Is there any way I can fix this, I don’t mind walking into a few slicks but 3 out of 5 is way to much for me…….Any help would be appreciated because I like this dog and would LOVE this dog if I could get his accuracy to around 75-80 percent

Nitro is for sale that would solve your slick treeing. Go to English page and look under "Nitech CH Nitro for sale".

You may not agree with what im about to tell you but i think it might help, if youve never Squalled a a coon out to your dog or shook him out , that might lossen him up some and make him hunt the track more. Alot of people strongly disagree with this but my point is if the dog has his mind more on treeing than he does finding the coon, then what good is he. You dont have to Do this to every coon you tree but, say onece or twice and see if it helps. Hes just got to learn to check the ground a little more than he has been.......... Jmop, and that comes from over 25 years of coon hunting with Good tree dogs

Yes Sir, I think...you are the new owner and this dog is testing you. he didnt get the way he was because they let him get away with bad habits.

walk him away from the tree 10-15 feet and bust his butt a few times with the lead strap(not the chain the strap) and tell him to get. a few times of this and the slick treein will stop.

dont be afraid to bust em a few times, I learned my lesson with this and this worked for me.
