All comments wanted ...Hunting BOOTS

I put another hole in my back up pair of muck boots with chaps last night(second pair this year). I like the Muck boots and they are comfortable, but i'm tired of getting holes in them and the patches never take.So i was thinking on trying some of these lace up Snake/waterproof boots like Nite lite (For example only) carries or is there a little tougher boat then the muck boot that is both comfortable and last?I'll be looking to buy them in the next week so let me hear what you guys got...

boots

I used the ROCKY snake boots for a long time but thet dont usually have any insulation for the COLD nites I hunted in the BBCHA spring hunt 2 years ago and will NEVER go without boots and chaps agian it took me almost 20min to get the boots off and my feet were almost BLUE BRRRRRRRRR that sucked BAAADDDD I was almost froze to DEATH
Try LaCross boots I love them or go with a hip wader they are sure to keep you DRY and dry is AWESOME on cold nites
IF you dont hunt where there is alot of water then the snake boots might work for ya
GOOD LUCK its a tough choice I know

I've got the Lacrosse Alpha Burly, the chap doesnt seem to be as tough as it could be but, I haven't had a problem with the boot yet. I might have just got lucky with this pair tho!

I have the LaCrosse alpha-burley as well. They are warm to hunt in during the winter, but really too heavy for the summer. They build all their boots in China, and you do not get the wear they use to. The good is you can at least patch them; there is a local mom and pop tire shop here, and they will patch the holes for a couple of bucks. The boots are live rubber and hold a patch well.Until we get American made stuff again; I'm afraid we're stuck with these sub-standard boots that won't last a year. Tom

Most of the snake boots are UNinsulated. I know that I can't wear the pair I bought for turkey season once the weather cools.

Try the woody armour muck boots they last longer than the other mucks. If they get a hole in them use super glue to patch.

Thanks for the input guys...I only cross a few creeks a night .I don't hunt in any swamps other then a few muddy swamps that i walk around, but not alot of standing water....STOKES i have 2 pairs of Muck boots that have holes in them if you need them ....LOL it might be easier swimming with holes in your boot...

i had real good luck with my mucks i bought. i do need a new pair finally though. i cannot believe everyone who keeps on having bad luck with there mucks. when i got mine, i got mine a size big. that way for winter i could wear heavier socks in them. and even in the summer though they were a size bigger they were still comfy for me. i always wore them blue booties with them though to.

The Mucks have been great but just a few rounds of bad luck and i got a hole in the top part of my foot and have some holes that just don't seem to hold a patch. I'm checking into the Woody armour by MUCK and waiting for a price .The other price i saw online was $140 Though.

I just ordered a pair of woody armour from Dan's with light chaps for $138.00 plus shipping.
I hope they are tougher than the other muck boots. I'm tired of patching holes.

i bought a pair of muck boots with the Valley Creek chaps at redbone days 09. (july 4th weekend) and my boots are still good as new but my chaps r about shot, my buddy bought a pair of Lacrosse alpha sports with dans chaps and the boots were destroyed within 4 month and the chaps were pretty much gone to, we both hunt about 5 nights a week, ill stick with the muck boots over anything! very light and extremely comfortable!

Well i ended up with the WOODY ARMOR By MUCK. I went through SPLIT OAK SUPPLY ( Jeff Wilson) Got them when he said i would and tryed them out last night. So far i like them i just have to get used to picking my feet up ....LOL they have some extra tread on them and even the gas peddle in the truck is a little touchy. I also bought Chaps for cooler nights from Jeff as well they are DANS so i'll keep everyone posted on the outcome. I ended up spending $169 total to the door with a pair of Boots and a pair of chaps.

Re: All comments wanted ...Hunting BOOTS

ive been using the lacross boot for many years,i tried the muck boots an there junk,if you hunt hard,i use the uninsulated with wicks chaps,in the winter just use i good pair of wool socks,my feet NEVER get cold,an i hunt in the snow a bunch, with the insulated boot your feet sweat then there going to get cold, plus who wants to buy summer boots an winter boots,i usally get a couple years out of them no problem,

Thanks AAUSTIN .I was thinking of going that route as well. But other then the holes i have liked my MUCK boots. If these don't hold up i'll be sure to try them next. Do you hunt alot of creeks and wetland? I hunt alot of creeks and some small mud marshes and need a dry boot 15" boots seem to be fine around here so no need for Waiters. Thanks for your comments guys....

herman survivors?

Has anyone tried the herman survivors from walmart. Their not the the cheap rubber boots, and have 1000 grams thinsulate. Around here they are about 70.00 dollars. They look similar to mucks, but they have more aggresive soles.

Lacrosse is the best pair of hunting boots i've ever got, tough(mine are coming on 2 yrs now), light weight but only thing is they aren't warm enough to wear in the winter up north here.
I'm not pleased with my Muck boots got them last fall to wear in the winter, the sole is already starting to loosen.
