My last political post

Now that the elections are completed and President Bush has won and the Senate and House both have a Republican majority, I hope that our next four years will see some changes for the good.

There shouldnt be any more excuses that this or that bill couldnt get passed due to the oppisite party blocking it, this should be a time in which this Republican party shows that it has the fortituide to make changes for our country that will make a positive impact for the good on all Americans from the rich to the poor.

I hope that given this great new chance that we see them even bring about some changes that the Democrates have been pushing for as well, as they also have some agendas that I feel can help this country.

I look forward to a resurgenece of pride to our country, a joining of ranks and a commitment from the Majority and Minority to make not only a better United States but a better World.

We should all use this oppurtunity to make sure our elected represenatives know our wishes and desiers, many have become politically motavated with this election but now is not the time to cease the fight, but now is the time to turn the burners up and let them know that we will be watching and will expect them to be like good cream and rise to the top.

I would hope that we see more resources spent toward developing alternative fuels, we are but on the cusp of this new technology and it can and will lead us toward a more prosperus future with out being shackled to an area of conflict in the Middle East.

I hope that we see our country leaning toward a more practical and eviromentialy friendly construction practices, one that can make a home not only more affordable but more energy efficient.

I hope that those in our country that see the hunting and fishing communities arent the savages they think but just another needed niche in the eco-system.

I would hope that this great country can step up to the plate and show the great genarations that have came before us that we have the vision and fortitude to not only bring change but prosperity.

In closing I would like to congradulate President Bush in his win and acknowledge Senator Kerrys hard fight .

It won't be my last. I just went to a couple of my favorite rabbit spots and a big back hoe was at both of them. This was likely being paid for by government subsidies to the farmer on low crop prices plus the farmer get a large percentage of the clearing paid for by the government. So lets add it up, the farmer gets paid because there was an overabundance of crops and then gets paid again to bulldoze more ground so he will have more crops. In the meantime, another good hunting spot is gone for good. I did forget the income tax break the farmer gets on his quarter of a million handout..

Not my last one either. No different than paying unmarried inner city girls with no education money to "support" their kids who then get pregnant again so they can get more money. These kids then have no parents to teach them right and wrong and you end up with inner cities even worse than before! Great programs all. Each party has more than their share of the blame.

Coonerman1,

That is not only an inner city problem. Happens right out in rural America as well.

Unfortunately Rob, I don't see much being done about the "gridlock" in DC. Due to filibusters, etc. To have TRUE control in the senate, for instance, you have to have a two-thirds majority... that's 60 senators. The GOP doesn't have that much of a margin. Factor into this how bitterly divided Congress is now and that rules out anybody crossing the aisle to break party lines...and you have 4 more years of red-tape, filibusters, and partisan BS.

The good news is that with the GOP in control of the White House and with the edge on Capitol Hill, there is less liklihood that we will have more of our personal freedoms and rights taken from us (gun ownership, hunting privileges, etc.).

Redtick, thats nonsense. I've owned cropland for several years and have had some bulldozing done and have yet to get one thin dime from the government for anything. I don't want it. Getting money from the government for anything ag related is more trouble than its worth.

People like their cheap food and ag products and the government is doing their best to keep it that way. The farmer ain't getting rich, for sure. Most farmers I know also have jobs, or at least their wives have jobs.

Most likely your rabbit spots are being taken for new houses. People want to move out, get a beagle, rabbit hunt a little, fish a little and see some deer around. Know anyboyd like that?

Jumping on the Farmers Redtick. Very poor taste. Why don't just stay off of all the farmers land, there won't be any problems. Very good Rob. For me, I hope Bush doesn't blame Clinton for the next four years also, that one is getting thin.

Ok well maybe not my last political post, but,

well Here are a few of the things I think need to get passed.

1. We need to urge the President and COngress to effectively fund and staff positions to provide fo Internel Security of the United State and to deny individuals or groups the ability to inflitrate and destroy the U.S. goverment.

2. English be Declarded the Official U.S. Language.

3.Return Patriotic Holidays to Traditional dates.

4.English be used in Naturlization cermonies.

5.Deny benifiets to Illegal Aliens, support penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens, and call for better security of U.S. borders.

6. Alert elected officials and public of massive influx of illegal immigrants and the consequences of mass immigration. Call for immigration reform.

7. Amend the law to allow injured or disabled Non-citzen vetrens applying for Naturalization to recieve naturlization with less than three years active-duty service if injured in the U.S. Armed Forces and honorably discharged.

8. Amend Constitution to allow public School Prayer.

9. Support constitutional amendment to protect the flag of the United States.

10. Seek legislation to oppose foreign manufacture of US flags.

11. Oppose legislation allowing conscientious objectors tax diversion from military spending.

12. Oppose changes to Title V of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

13. Illegal immigration compromises Nation Security, Apprhnd and incarcerete illegla aliens.

14. Oppose amnesty for illegal aliens.

15. Oppose financial aid for Illegal alien students.

16.Reform of the student visa system.

17. Amend the temporary Protected status portion of the immigration act of 1990 to limit coverage to residents legally in the US.

18.Support providing fedral agencies with the resources for tracking arrival and departure of foreign vistors to US.

19. US should use all means necessary to systematicaly and completly eliminate terrorism.

20.US foreign policies must include acheivement of world peace with freedom using a peace thru strength posture.

These are but a few of the topics I feel werent addressed in this election or addresed in depth.

Heck, Rob, your resolution didn't last 1 day. LOL.

I like farmers, I hunt with farmers, some of my best friends farm, if my daddy owned 1000 acres and was going to give it to me when he died, I would be a farmer. No, no new house built by some overpaid healthcare person spending his oversized tax cut by building a new house in my favorite hunting spot. Just some farmer spending his subsidies in a way to use it as a tax break. We have some farmers that own over 2000 acres of prime Illinois farm land that get over a quarter of a million a year in subsidies. They use part of that money to destroy what little wildlife areas that are left into more farmland to grow more corn to get more subsidies. Heck, if I farmed 2000 acres, I would want it too. But, I am a hunter who soon won't have anywhere to hunt.

The bottom line with me is that there soon won't be anywhere to hunt.

Well Dave I thought about it and

it seemed that maybe some ideas needed to be brought up that I thought might help our country.
Notice I said ideas not complaints or belly aching!

LOL!!!! I don't blame ya pepper, word has it Robert Redford is moving as we speak to Ireland. I hope thats true, thats one less kook in our country. Seriously though, there are reports of people crossing into Canada right now though no joke.

I wanna know, how come when Clinton won the election, Right wingers didn't flock to other countries, and cry wolf about moving out of here?? Could it be because we don't throw fits, and cry when we don't get it our way??? Could it be that we are adults, who act like grown ups???

Dang redtick!!!!!!!!! The more I think about that the more it gripes me, do you got any idea about people getting sued for silly crap??? Do you realize the RISK the nice farmers are taking by giveing us PERMISSION to hunt there land. They must like us a lot if they allow us to do that. THEY SURE DONT HAVE TO. Us coonhunters need to make all the farmer friends we can. I KNOW I AND DAD HAVE!!!!!!!!! Thanks to our farmer buddies we have some descent places to hunt. What would we do without them?? PAY OUTRAGOUS PRICES TO JOIN THESE HUNTING CLUBS WHERE ALL THE COONS HAVE BEEN CLEANED OUT OF ANYWAY!!!!!!!! Redtick, I'm not personally attacking you, I'm trying to let you know you should THINK about what your saying. Just THINK about it. Let me let you in on something else redtick that may help you. Theres no shame in saying your sorry. I've had to a lot in my life and some times on this message board. I've never regreted saying I was sorry and moveing on. Its the right thing to do. It's what were SUPPOSED to do. What if one of your farmer buddies was reading that stuff you typed???
