cure

just got my cure for cabin fever!!! what a dandy night for hunting, no wind, light snow and the coon were stirring..took Bawlie out and treed one on the outside in 3 min. i let him tree for 25 min and went to make another drop..turn loose and 5 min he was treed again with another on the outside about 150 yds from the truck..the first one was 30 yds from the truck..i didn't get much excersise though..

How much snow you got down there? Gonna be gone by your Walker Sectional?

Sounds like you hunt about as hard as I do this time of year.

kind of felt guilty quiting after two drops..lol but i just knew sooner or later he was going to get thru the country on me..he can tree em quick and short but he can also get in there 900yrds fast. we will have plenty of snow, thank god that 12-15 went south of us last night..the snow is shin to knee deep in most spots unless your on a open ridge, then its about ankle deep..takes alot of snow to slow Bawlie down..he hunts just like he is on bare ground..lol

I sure hope you meant shin deep... not chin deep! LOL! Good ol' Wisconsin education.

Not much different than we have here. Sounds like we have more than that. I haven't been out in 3 weeks since we got another 6-10 inches.

I'm thinking about getting out of pocket for some hunts this year. Arthur is on the list.

i'm sure i could find a spot that is chin deep, off the north side of the arthur bluff...i've found it before, just two have a couple jokers that would rather laugh at me then help me out!!

For the record, I'd laugh at you too. Heck, I'm almost laughing thinking about Reuter and the Stanton boys belly laughing at you. I really got to get down there sometime.

I still laugh everytime I think about the night Sassy run the Cedar River Swamp Monster. ****dest thing I ever witnessed.

wish they had water marathons, bridge to bridge i'd put my money on her!!LOL what a way to****up a chance to win a four wheeler!!LOL mitch found her treed on a big cotton wood on the river bank with a coon two miles down river from where we turned loose..

Hey you saw what the English dog I was hunting could do Friday night and then his performance on Saturday. You weren't the only handler disappointed in that cast. Darn fireworks rattled his cage I guess.

I just keep thinking about how your dog was treed and we proceeded to her. Along the way Gomer's dog comes treed in front of us and is handled shortly after. We keep on to your dog thinking, just around another bend in the river. Gomer suggests she's moving. You assured him she was treed. I backed you up, "I hunted with the dog last night... She's treeing every breath." She never missed a beat. Kept on to her. She's just around another bend in the river. Gomer suggests she's moving again. Thinking Gomer was trying to pull a fast onem, I insist the dog is treed and we're gonna walk to her. Kept on keeping on. Then Gomer says "Boys, we've done walked out of hearing of my dog who is handled at a tree". Only then would I believe your dog was in fact moving, although she never missed a beat and was clearly treeing every breath. Only to be caught near the Plainfield bridge hours later and miles away. Classic hunt.

She could win a water race and treeing contest at the same time!

That had to have been more than 2 miles. I swear we walked a mile and half and she wasn't getting any closer. Maybe 2 miles as the crow flies but had to have been 4 following the river.

I agree. Bad part was while my dog was hiding under the truck all night, I had to go on that little walk with y'all. After handing you a cast win Friday night and that walk Saturday night, you owe me one.

had a relapse of cabin fever, took Bawlie out for a couple drops..first track ran hard about 300yds into a guys heifer shed.. found the coon between some lg square bales..had to re- tie a few strings..lol ...next drop Bawlie went 680 yds and struck, then brought the track back toward me and treed 489yds from the truck..after a hike thru knee deep snow in that bottom he had a nice one up the tree..the moon was bright and the temps was dropping so 8:00pm i called it quits..

DanIII X SassyII he is a 2yr old, full brother to bucky but different litter..he is high octane, he can get treed almost out of (MY) hearing range in a matter of minutes..or he can slam one rite in front of your face in a matter of seconds...i really like him.
