how do I obtain altered class reg.

I'm haven't sent in UKC reg. form yet (transferring of owners) and wondering how do I obtain an altered class registration or do I need one, can I use the regular UKC pedigree registration for events?

What kind of events (incl.coonhunting) can I enter my redbone and walker in when they are altered (fixed).

The redbone has the UKC pedigree registration and our walker will have to get a LP registration, because she was a rescue, and have no background info on her whatsoever, so, the LP reg.will have to do for now.

Please someone reply soon! There are events coming up in March that I'm hoping to attend, esp. with those papers!!!!

Send in the papers along with a signed statement telling us that the dogs have been spayed/neutered.

As far as the events are concerned, that is a question for our Field Operations Department.

If you can't hunt over them, those Championship titles don't mean Didly Squatt.

Further checking

I can't see where you need anything but the registration papers or Easy entry card to compete in any field trial events.I can't find anything that says you can't participate with a spayed or neutured dog in trial events. It' deffinately a disqualifying fault on the bench.

neutered dogs are fine in anything but the show bench. A lot of people think altered hounds hunt better--they're just not worth as much if they do turn out to win a lot because they can;t be bred.
the rescue hound is a little more complicated. The breed registries are responsible for deciding which hounds can be single registered and when. For most breed associations, the hound has to look like that breed, and has to be able to tree a coon. Some of the breeds require a three geneation record of ancestry, which is impossible for a rescue of unknown background. Single registration for most breeds is only open for a limited time each year. If the hound looks like a walker, you might want to check with the UKC chartered walker or English association, or ask on the classified boards for those breeds.
There used to be a lot of clubs that had events for grade (unpapered) dogs, but very few do any more. doesn't mean you can't have a lot of fun hunting it, but it probably won't be able to compete at most sanctioned events...

You will not be able to compete in the nite hunts with a dog with Limited Privilege Registration.

OK, I have checked into this, and ONLY Coonhounds that are permanently registered with UKC can compete in the hunts. Coonhounds that are registered under the Limited Privledge Program are not eligible to participate in hunts.

Here is the thread in the Registration section:

In order for your walker to compete in the nite hunts, you will need to get it single registered through the treeing walker breed association and pass their requirements.
