Depression sets in here in NC

Well tonights it for the North Carolina season boys and girls. I feel like cryin. My young dog just started gettin it right and im a have to start leavin em in the tree. I dont know. I dont really mind leavin em in the tree I quess its just that I know when the season goes out that hot weather huntin is just around the corner. I tell ya though it has been a very productive season. My yound dog has come a long ways in the last couple months, and especially the last two weeks. He went from maybe a 50% average to dang near bettin money theres meat in the tree. Hes not quiet two years old so im lookin forward to next season. I think thatll be his year to shine. The guy I give my coons to said I was the only one killin anything around here that he knew of consistently and that makes me so proud I want to bust a button lol.

just got in from my last nite of KILL SEASON hunt. Put 3 in the freezer. Only good thing about the end of the kill season is that we're just a little closer to the corn fields coming. 40 acre feeder buckets!!!! LOL

I went last night and treed two hollows and one good tree with a coon in it. Kind of pitiful compared to the last couple weeks. I was hopin to have a blow out kinda nite lol. Yea them corn fields are nice but i ussually hunt my big swamps in the summer when theyve dried out enough you can get in them, unless I got a young puppy just gettin started and ill check out the corn fields and feed buckets. I like my more established dogs to work hard to find and tree a coon of course.

i

kill the coon when a young dog needs one season or not but i leave plenty even in season.just becauls season is in dont mean i kill the coon to my dogs I JUST SHOOT OUT WAT IS NEEDED TO TRAIN IS ALL. i left every coon lay on the ground this season but 1 becauls it was around 25 pounds and skined it and gave it away and about 30 from last season .this year we packed out 3 to throw dowen in the yard so some small pups could chew on them was all,we are better off to not kill and skin coon 4 no more then they will bring.we all would be better off if coon hides brought onley 25 cents each.then we would have more coon to tree.i pick where i kill coon at and that is usuley around cliff country becauls that dont hurt are poplation.i know though they are places that coon need thined out so they dont get desitemper or rabbies and so on but here we dont have the coon some states have.i live in ky

Ive heard rumors of them doing that here in NC but they havent yet. We got plenty of coons so I dont think it would hurt. If it was year round i probably wouldnt shoot them all especially durin the spring. It would be nice to no I could shoot one out to a pup anytime they need it and not worry about the law.
