Excellent time to kill 2 birds with 1 stone! You address this aggressive behavior and put an end to it while they are eating and you will also be helping them tree side by side down the road when they start treeing coon. Feed them out of separate dishes and when one shows aggression give him a scolding and an education with a switch, more than likely after a couple treatments they will start behaving like good little boys. If this doesn't work then start taking away what the aggressor fights over ( food ) and if he has any brains he will know that if he behaves he will eat and vice versa. Good luck

address the problem now or wish you would have a year down the road. it will only get worse more than likely. they need to know that you will not tolerate that behavior now!!!!!

Start feeding them side by side. Any time one of them acts aggressive explain to them in no uncertain terms that it is not allowed. Dogs don't get to choose what they like and don't like. If they are both being well fed there is no reason to fight. You have to get a handle on it now because if they are aggressive the problem can spread to other areas. First it's food, then it's space in the dog box or on the tree or over a dead coon. As soon as a dog thinks they can be possessive of something they will try it again.I have hooked dogs together at the collar before with a piece of pipe between them. They can't reach each other and it doesn't take long for them to get used to being close.
