Go and buy some Nemex-2 (pyrtantel pamoate) You should start using it at 2 weeks of age. How much you give depends on the weight of the pup, thats why I asked if they were beagles. Directions are on the box and bottle, it's pretty safe stuff don't be scared to use it,I use a syringe to give it to them, I use about 1cc or 1ml same difference for beagle pup's, the box say's to give them 1 tablespoon (5ml) per 10 pounds of body weight.

Nemex2 is what I use to use until this last litter. I had a male pup with some kind of worm that Nemex2 wasn't taking care of. It was suggested that I try Safegaurd liquid goat wormer. It's the same price as Nemex2 and you can buy it at TSC. It worked awesome. I've used it ever since with good results. I believe it takes care of everything but heartworms.

Jeremy, do you know what kind of worm it was? I'm curious, I'd like to know for future reference myself, I think Nemex-2 dosen't cover tapeworm, Safeguard is another good one!, It covers a very wide spectrum of perasites, I switch my wormers up every so often, just to make sure I get'em all.
houndcrazy186, if you know for sure they're round worms (most of the time thats what they are) Nemex-2 or even Strongid ( also pyrantel pamoate) horse wormer will knock em' out fast( you'll see em' in about a 1/2 an hour to an hour), just watch, your female will eat them! nasty! lol! MAKE SURE YOU WORM YOUR GYP TOO!, she's the whole reason the pup's have worms!

SHOTS....

For shot's I give em' a good 5-way pup shot, just under the skin near the upper shoulder area, NOT in the muscle!!, I wait till they're 6 week's old, then by the time they can "legaly" leave their mom(7weeks old in PA) they have had the shot in them for at least a week( give it a chance to start to work). I usally keep my pup's till they're 8 week's old anyway. When giving the shots keep an eye on the pup's after you give em' the shot, some can have an allergic reaction to the shot, if that happens get em' to the vet as quick as possible and take the packaging the shot came in with you so they know what you gave them, so they can give them the right fixer upper. Good luck with your pup's (it's all worth it in the end!!) Dusty

I'm not sure what kind of worm it was. I didn't really even notice it in his stool. He was just bloating really bad. Way worst then they should. After about a week of that I called my vet and she said it was more than likely some type of worm that my wormer wasnt covering. I gave him the safeguard goat wormer 3 days in a row and he was fine after that. Some say it kills heart worms as well, I don't know. Give 1cc for every 5 lbs.
