Been feeding it on a self feeder for several months now. 6 year male looks great, 1 year female looks good, maybe a bit heavy (good for winter).

I haven't actually done the math, but I'm fairly sure I'm using less feed on the self feeders.

Auto feeder is the way to go but I like going to the kennel everyday to check on my dogs. I give 1.5 qt 1 time a day and have no problems.

Started feeding 2.5 extra cups per dog for the last two weeks...Im not going to pay the high price if Im not getting the results. Swore by for the last 5 yrs up till this past Nov.. something's changed.. Thinking about going to High Standard...

I have a Spayed female(60lbs) thats 6 thats an easy keeper that gets 4 cups a day and looks good and i have a 16 month old(50lbs) hyper female that gets 7 cups a day. I think the cold snap really hurts them and if your hunting hard. i actually upped the young dog to the 30/20 for a bag and will cut her back to the 26/18 when the weather breaks.

Ive never had to feed

my male that 80 lbs no more than 5-6 cups a day to keep weight on him. Having to feed not 8-9 cups now just to maintain. Heck I used to be able to skip 1 day a week bout every two weeks.

Anyone use Hi-standard or Ultra Advantage? Is there anyone selling it near Roxboro NC

I switched to Hi-standard and have had really good luck. I only feed 3-4 cups a day and my dogs look great. The best they ever looked. Go Hi-standarddogfood.com and click on distributors and find one in your area. Or think about coming one yourself.

I feed Black Gold 26/18, I have a 5 yr. old that gets 3 cups a day, sometimes theres food left, and i have a 2 yr. old that gets 3.5 cups. both look good. I just switched to Black Gold about 6 months ago, I've tried Hi-pro & Hi-Standard. They like the Black Gold the best for sure.

The only other brand thats I could

get thats close by is Hi Standard. A guy sales that bout 30 min away...but been that route before..start buying ...price goes up...and that single vendor cant afford the cost and back to square one.... Would like to try the Enhanced or the Native feed. Just nowhere close by..

Have feed for 4 years

We feed 26/18 to our male that we hunt 2-1/2 cups to 3 cups depending on how much he is hunted.

My felmale gets the Ultimate Adult High protein Lower fat to keep up the muscle tone on her since we do not hunt her. She gets 2-3 cups a day.

You can see both of them from the Winter Classic Saturday show as they both won Grand Champion B&T.

They have always been feed Black Gold since they were born and love the results. We have had no problems at all with either feed and only vary amounts depending upon their activity.

My question is...are you people measuring this dog food with a measuring cup or guessing at it, or using a coffee can to measure it... or estimating how much your dog eats from a self feeder? Two cups of any dog food is so little when you measure it. Wow...two cups a day for a 75 pound hard hunted hound! That must be some more dog food!

I would question the dogs ability to even assimilate 5 cups or more feed in a 24 hour period. Put 5 cups of feed in a bucket, cover with water and keep adding water until it no longer expands.......that is a shyt load mass of feed! If I had to feed that much I'd probably split it into two feedings and find that I could probably reduce the overall amount fed in a 24 hour period as the assimilation quantity would probably be easier for the dog to handle.
Yes, I can see it in your case. Thanks!

looks like about a cup every 17lbs or the price of 1 fast food
burger a week.i would say age weather would have something
to do with it.
