Talk Buckshot into going into his history on his forum. There is a story written by toe cutter I beleive. It is telling me a story about a possom being held out of a pickup window and a highway patrolman. You will laugh till you cry. There is another one about 2 dogs 2 friends 1 skunk 2 skunked dogs and a good friends guesture. Another one that will make you roll. I laugh every time I think about it.

Ok I have one of the old things the old timers did not to break a dog but to give him grit. My dad wouldn't keep a dog that wouldn't get a coon out of a barrel. He didn't have a lot of patients either. So if they weren't fighting coon at a pretty young age he put the dog in a barrel put a coon it with the dog. Then put a lid on the barrel. The dog came out hateing coon and wanting to kill them all or so worthless it wasn't worthy of a bullet. I know now that some of the dogs that didn't pass that test could had been great dogs if given more time and patients.
So in my opinion and I still love my dad (god rest his soul) but not all old methods was the best ones. I think everything improves includeing dog training teniques. At least I hope they are. Some of those dogs didn't look well when they came out. I wouldn't of wanted to pay the vet bill on them...... and I guess dad didn't either becouse I never remember ever takeing a dog to a vet.
Dad had gang green in his leg before he went to the doctor with a bullet in his leg. So the dog didn't have a chance. LOL

I went hunting one night with a friend of mine. About 50 acres of woods with a field just to the side. I took an older female walker and he had a b&t male around the same age. We turned loose just inside the woods and waited........b&t strikes. My dog goes into back. ......Nothing heard b&t gives up after 20 minutes or so. We turn loose again a little farther in this time. ....... Nothing heard, I start to smell the most god awful skunk, smell is so strong its like its crawling up my leg. We head out to the field to find both dogs baying this stinky devil, and then mine goes in for the kill! At this point I was PISSED. Dogs come back, snap up and go to the trucks.

My friend recently had a baby, and just so happened to have a couple of diapers in the top of his box. I grab a diaper, and use it to retrieve the skunk. With diaper and skunk in hand I return to the truck where my dog is tied to the back bumper. I commence the beatin, I took the skunk and was whooping my dog in the head with this stinkin skunk. Blood flying, whimpering, and nashing of teeth took place that night. But it fixed my dog, never again did I have to bring out the diapers.

OL"boy told me they would tie a deer chaser to a billygoat for a day.....then we had the guy who kept a mean buck deer that would whuppp a dog so it won't run deer......then the one about tying the opossum on the dog until it rotted off these are just a few

Some of these trash breaking stories will make you wet your pants laughing. A fella that I know used to handle a dog for an old timer and the dog loved to run deer,the old timer always sat in the van with the windows down listening to the chase. This particular night they took the deer runner hunting and some type of acid. I guess you drizzle the acid down the dogs back bone and it activates in a couple minutes of running trash and burns, and pretty much drives the dog to the point of insanity! Sounds pretty darn cruel but I was told that it only hurts for awhile and it's about 100% gauranteed to break em off trash. Anyway, a deer runs across the road and they get the 95 pound bluetick out and he shows a lot of interest and wants to run the deer, the kid spread the acid and released the dog. The dog runs out about 20 yards and humps up to take a #2, the acid activated, the dog lost his mind, the handler is runnin for his life screaming at the old fella to roll the windows up and 95 pounds of pissed off bluetick trying to get in through the open window. Nobody was injured, the dog eventually made a nice cooner, and they switched to tri-tronics.
